‘Very Young Frankenstein’ Comedy in the Works at FX, Mel Brooks Exec Producing

As a reminder, it’s pronounced “Fronk-en-steen.”

FX is creating a comedy called “Very Young Frankenstein“, which takes inspiration from the 1974 classic comedy “Young Frankenstein” by Mel Brooks. Along with Kevin Salter, Brooks serves as one of the project’s executive producers. Additionally, three former team members from FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” – Stefani Robinson (who might become showrunner if the project advances), Taika Waititi, and Garrett Basch – are also involved as executive producers. The studio behind this project is Disney’s 20th Television, a successor of the original 20th Century Fox that released the film. Michael Gruskoff, who produced the movie, is also an EP for this new version.

FX and 20th TV declined comment.

More to come.
