In 2012, Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam first appeared in the movie “Vicky Donor,” directed by Shoojit Sircar. Over time, this comedy film has gained a devoted following and is now considered a cult classic. Excitingly, it will be re-released in theaters on April 18, 2025, nearly 13 years after its initial release.
PVR Cinemas posted on their Instagram account a promotional image for the film “Vicky Donor,” starring Ayushmann Khurrana. The caption read: “Experience the charm of ‘Vicky Donor’ once again in theaters, where its magic truly shines!
“#VickyDonor re-releasing at PVR INOX on April 18!,” it further read.
Vicky Donor’s re-release announced
Vicky Donor was a humorous movie that took place in Delhi as its setting. The film follows the story of Vicky, an ordinary guy who turns into a sperm donor to make some cash. Director Shoojit Sircar skillfully handled the sensitive topic this movie presented.
During a chat with Honestly Saying Podcast last year, the actor from Thama discussed his film’s triumph and shared insights about navigating fame at a tender age, revealing its impact on him personally.
He began his career at a very young age. At around 17-18 years old, he was part of Pop Stars, and at about 20-21, he joined Roadies. After his first movie became successful, he admitted that he went through a period of mental instability. With everyone wanting a piece of him, coming from a middle-class background, when he became a public figure, he felt the need to give his all to his profession.
In terms of his professional life, Ayushmann Khurrana will appear next in the horror-comedy titled “Thama,” sharing the screen with Rashmika Mandanna. This film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who gained fame with Munjya, and also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal in significant roles. The movie is slated for release around Diwali this year.
Meanwhile, Yami was last seen in Netflix’s Dhoom Dhaam.
