Vidya reminisced about turning down a film that co-starred Akshaye Khanna and discussed his reaction to her decision on the project.
Discussing her past experiences in the industry and her lengthy acting career, Vidya Balan recalled that she had always been reluctant to disappoint anyone by turning down any opportunity. She said, “A movie was offered to me alongside Akshaye Khanna, but for some reason I couldn’t resonate with the script. Instead of calling him directly, I asked my manager to inform the director about my decision.
In the heart-pounding moment when I crossed paths with Akshaye on the set of Salaam-e-Ishq, he playfully dismissed me for turning down his script. Overwhelmed and in need of assistance, I turned to John Abraham for help. With a plea for rescue in my voice, I confided that I was determined to avoid conflict, spare feelings, and prevent anyone from feeling uncomfortable. However, as it turns out, Akshaye was merely joking around. This truth dawned on me later on.
Additionally, the actress from Tumhari Sulu admitted that nobody enjoys hearing ‘no,’ especially considering the energy and resources put into crafting a script. In an open admission, Balan shared her insight by stating that being married to a producer has given her a deeper understanding of this truth. Disclosing some behind-the-scenes details, Vidya explained to the media outlet, “I’m not impolite; I speak truthfully, but I recognize the hard work involved in creating a script and respect it.
