Vidya Balan REVEALS she still lives in rented house with husband Siddharth Roy Kapur; ‘We looked at around 25 houses but…’

As a dedicated follower, I deeply admire Vidya Balan’s humility and practicality that shines through her life choices. Her decision to live in a rented home, despite having reservations about it, is a testament to her focus on comfort over material possessions. It’s fascinating to see how she values the rare finds like a garden and a sea view in a densely populated city.

More recently, Vidya Balan disclosed at an occasion the reason she and her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, opt to reside in a leased property. She explained that they looked into buying a home but eventually chose a rental unit because of its convenience. At the event, the actress further clarified her decision to maintain their rental lifestyle, acknowledging some apprehensions associated with it.

At a gathering, the actress disclosed that when she tied the knot with film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, they embarked on a house hunting journey together. She admitted, “We examined approximately 25 houses, but couldn’t find one we could mutually agree on.” In the end, they found a house they both admired, yet it was only available for rent—something she wasn’t at ease with. “I had always maintained, ‘I don’t want to reside in a rented property.’

After having a tough time finding their ideal home, they went back to the same location and opted to lease it instead. The actress from Kismet Konnection shared her reasoning, pointing out that it’s uncommon to find both a garden and a sea view in such a densely populated city. She playfully added that the setup suits them nicely since their landlord is content with receiving a substantial rent check from the agreement.

Vidya Balan shared that locating the perfect home is often influenced by destiny, as one can instinctively feel a sense of belonging when stepping into a house. She recalled her house-hunting journey with her mother approximately 15 years ago, during which she aimed to find a location either in Bandra or Juhu, closer to her workplace, to minimize the tiring commute from Chembur.

In her hunt, the actress discovered her dream home, but its price was beyond their means. Yet, she recalled her mother’s advice about focusing on managing the monthly installments, which eventually enabled the purchase. Upon stepping inside the house, it felt as if it were hers, suggesting that the transaction seemed predestined.

In terms of his professional life, Balan recently appeared in the movie “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” alongside Pratik Gandhi, Ilena D’Cruz, and Senthil Ramamurthy. This romantic-comedy hit theaters on April 19, 2024, and is now accessible for online streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
