Vikrant Massey says 'borderline woke generation' would've denounced Jaadu Teri Nazar from Shah Rukh Khan's Darr if it was released today

As a dedicated follower of Vikrant Massey’s career, I have been impressed by his growth as an actor since his Bollywood debut with “Lootera” in 2013. His recent reflection on moral policing in Hindi cinema and the song “Tu Hai Meri Kiran” from Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s “Darr” is thought-provoking.

1. Actor Vikrant Massey, who first appeared in Bollywood with the 2013 film Lootera, has become widely recognized as a familiar face following his role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s production, 12th Fail. At present, he is preparing for the release of Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba.

Recently, the actor spoke out about moral policing in Bollywood films and expressed that if the hit song “Tu Hai Meri Kiran” from the 1993 movie “Darr,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, was released today, it might be banned.

Vikrant Massey shares his opinion on how today’s generation would have reviewed Tu Hai Meri Kiran

During a recent interview with Times Now, Vikrant Massey expressed his opinion that if “Tu Hai Meri Kiran (Jaadu Teri Nazar)” was created nowadays, the more socially aware generation might criticize or reject it as somewhat outdated or problematic.

12th Fail actor revealed that he spent a night listening to the renowned track, which features Juhi Chawla, with someone.

“He stated that today’s generation, often referred to as the ‘borderline woke’, would reject this if they were asked about it today. The question then arises: At what point do we decide where to draw the line?”

Vikrant talks about toxic love and infatuation in Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba

In an interview about his new movie, Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba, Vikrant expressed that the portrayal of toxic love and infatuation in the film may be misunderstood by some viewers. They might think such love is genuine in reality, but according to him, this is just a delusion.

1. The actor also mentioned regretfully that moral supervision has encroached upon the creative field. Over the past nine years, he noted, this issue has become increasingly evident, emphasizing that it should not exist within this sphere at all.
