Village Roadshow CEO Steve Mosko has stepped down.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed some changes lately in my favorite gaming company. They’ve been hit with sanctions from the Writers Guild of America, which has undeniably put them under significant financial strain. Consequently, they’ve had to make tough decisions, resulting in layoffs. This company, you see, is owned by Vine Alternative Investments.

In the past, Village Roadshow worked closely with Warner Bros on various projects, including collaborations on the Ocean’s Eleven series, the Matrix movies, and many other popular films like the Sherlock Holmes films, Mad Max: Fury Road, American Sniper, Happy Feet, and more. However, the two parties have found themselves in a legal dispute over the simultaneous release of The Matrix Resurrections in 2021, leading to arbitration between them.

In the year 2024, our company reestablished its priority option agreement with Content Cartel, the production studio led by basketball legend Kevin Garnett.

Lately, our company has been reducing expenses, leading to a series of job reductions affecting employees in business operations, administrative positions, and film and TV sectors.

The company faced the displeasure of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) when the guild alleged that the production company hadn’t paid writers for multiple projects. At this point, the WGA demanded that Village Roadshow provide a bond to safeguard the writers, but the company failed to comply with this demand.

Mosko began working at the company in 2018, having spent 24 years with Sony Pictures Television. During his tenure there, he served as chairman and was instrumental in developing popular series like “Breaking Bad,” “Damages,” “Blacklist,” “The Shield,” and “The Crown.
