The 2025 movie lineup is progressing smoothly, and several titles have resonated with film enthusiasts. Recently, the Vince Vaughn-led dramedy “Nonnas” was added to Netflix’s library, and it has been well received by audiences. Critics also appear to enjoy this charming story about food and family. Additionally, this newest release is a rare instance where critics and general viewers share a high level of agreement.
Throughout his career, Vince Vaughn has been successful in both movies and television shows, earning praise from both audiences and critics alike. However, it’s worth noting that his latest film, “Nonnas,” is particularly noteworthy. As of now, it boasts a 78% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is quite impressive. Interestingly, the movie is also favored by critics, holding an 81% score from them as well. The fact that these scores are so similar suggests that “Nonnas” is a widely appealing film.
It’s quite rare for both film critics and general audiences to be so in sync in their opinions about a particular movie, as they often have varying perspectives. However, when a movie like the one under discussion has a mere 3% difference in ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s truly impressive. Lately, there have been instances where these two groups have shown more disagreement, such as with A Minecraft Movie earlier this year and the fans and critics of 2024’s IF. In these cases, their opinions diverged significantly.
It’s common for pundits and movie enthusiasts not to see eye-to-eye on certain films, as has been the trend for quite some time. In fact, some viewers have compiled lists of movies they think critics got wrong. Given this, it’s quite unusual when these film aficionados can find agreement.
More on Nonnas

I recently watched the most delightful film of the year, which I hadn’t heard about until a few weeks back.
At first glance, it’s understandable why audiences might find themselves charmed by the movie titled Nonnas. Based on real events, this film revolves around Joe Scaravella (played by Vince Vaughn), who aims to pay tribute to his deceased mother by opening an Italian restaurant. True to his word, he establishes the eatery and enlists a group of Italian grandmothers, affectionately called Nonnas, to assist him in running the business. Vaughn shares the screen with some renowned actresses such as Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Brenda Vaccaro, and Talia Shire. Linda Cardellini, Joe Manganiello, and Drea de Matteo are also part of the cast ensemble.
Within TopMob, the film featuring Vince Vaughn has received acclaim, as our very own Alexandra Ramos labeled it as the most uplifting movie of the year. Moreover, Ramos had an opportunity to converse with Vaughn regarding the movie, where he shared insights about Joe Scaravella’s culinary enthusiasm and other aspects.
It’s clear that the filmmakers have created something delightful with the film Nonnas. To be frank, it’s rarely easy to resist a heartwarmingly funny movie boasting an engaging plot, an endearing cast, and mouth-watering food scenes. Admittedly, merely mentioning it has my appetite stirring. However, considering the enthusiastic response from fans and viewers, it seems wise to follow suit and watch Nonnas now that it’s been unveiled in the 2025 Netflix movie lineup. In the meantime, I’ll be off to find some pasta!
