Pluralism and Diversity

Buterin believes that L2 protocols contribute significantly to Ethereum’s vibrant and multifaceted ecosystem. Buterin promoted the concept of cultural diversity within Ethereum’s community. He proposed that some groups could dedicate their efforts to enhancing the platform’s core functionalities, while others could work on broadening its periphery. By dividing tasks in this manner, Ethereum can effectively tackle the issue of attracting developers and users for various applications.

He stated, 

“Cultural pluralism offers a solution to this dilemma by enabling different cultural groups to concentrate on advancing their fundamental aspects while another group works on expanding the boundaries of the community.”
