Warframe: 1999’s Techrot Encore update sees you taking On-Lyne Off-Lyne, coming soon

  • Boy-band On-Lyne debut in their mutated form as the Technocyte Coda
  • There’s new weapons, and four new Protoframes, as well as the debut of the 60th Warframe!

In March, the classic game Warframe will receive a brand-new update, as announced during one of Digital Extremes’ developer streams. This update, called Techrot Encore, introduces the 60th Warframe Temple into the game, along with four new Protoframes and plenty of additional features! Additionally, you can expect to encounter some familiar faces that you’ll need to battle against.

This is due to Techrot Encore noticing that the Lich adversary system has a new member, the Technocyte Coda, more commonly known as On-Lyne – a boy band. If you’re not familiar with them, On-Lyne were often center stage in the ARG preceding Warframe’s release in 1999. However, these charming and seemingly harmless boys have swapped their popularity for lethal abilities now.

Luckily for me, I’ll be equipped with a stack of fresh gear to assist in my adventures! Four brand-new Scaldra weapons offer a multitude of possibilities for obliterating any firefight (or slicing through them). To top it off, there are updates to the Romance & Relationships system, perfect for all you romantics, and a sleek new Gyre Deluxe cosmetic skin. Additionally, I’ll have access to the recently introduced Protoframes and Warframe!


Y2K is real!

It seems quite clear that I’m not alone in being captivated by the peculiar early 20th century vibe that Warframe: 1999 exudes. Frankly, if there are any more enemy types than “boy bands transformed into cybernetic monstrosities,” I’d rather not be informed about them.

Absolutely, as we approach the release of our upcoming update in March, there’s still a lot to look forward to! Starting on February 6th, we have the return of the Clan Operation: Belly of the Beast, along with new skins and Nightwave Vol. 8 for additional rewards.
