Warner Music Group Names Alejandro Duque New President of ADA

Warner Music Group recently announced that Alejandro Duque, current President of Warner Music Latin America, will assume the role of President for their distribution division, ADA, in the near future.

A day following Cat Kreidich’s announcement in an internal memo, she will be departing from her position as leader, which she has held for four years.

In his new position at ADA, Duque will also maintain his role as President of Latin America. The sector of Latin music is rapidly expanding within the industry, and distribution has emerged as a crucial aspect for labels seeking to expand their market presence. With this in mind, Duque finds himself leading two prominent divisions of the company. He will continue working from Miami.

Under Alejandro’s leadership, we expect ADA to stand out by offering independent labels and artists unmatched opportunities at a pace and scope unavailable elsewhere,” said Robert Kyncl, CEO of WMG, in a statement. “Alejandro has demonstrated his commitment to the indie community, and he understands well the extent of WMG’s influence and resources as drivers for global fame. This unique blend will remove obstacles for ADA’s clients, connecting them more intimately with our system, and enabling them to grow their businesses.

Before becoming a part of WMG in 2021, Duque held positions at Universal Music Colombia, Universal Music Latino, Machete, and Capitol Latin. Notably, he collaborated with several artists during his tenure at Warner Music Latin America, including Natanael Cano, Myke Towers, Blessd, Danny Ocean, Elena Rose, and others.

In a statement made on Wednesday, Duque expressed that worldwide, there are numerous artists who are shaping culture and require support to advance their careers. He emphasized ADA’s dedication to expanding its distribution business and boosting the ADA brand by offering top-notch service, adaptable deals, and technological advancements. This approach has proven successful in Latin America, and now, ADA plans to apply this comprehensive strategy across all aspects of their business, further unifying their independent distribution strategy with their teams based in the US and globally.
