However, had he not succumbed to the darkness and managed to maintain control over his immense power represented by his high M-count, he might have become the greatest Jedi, if he hadn’t lost his duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar instead.

I Don’t Think Anakin Ever Fulfilled His True Potential

It cannot be disputed that Anakin’s journey as a Jedi lacked the full realization of his true potential. His focus often wavered, and despite possessing admirable qualities like compassion, he also exhibited traits such as arrogance, impulsiveness, and recklessness. The powerful emotions he felt for Padmé Amidala, his loss over his mother, and the conflicts between his bonds with Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his loyalty to the Jedi Order all played a significant role in this. While Anakin’s connection to the Force was exceptional, it fell short of what he could have achieved if he had followed the path of a truly great Jedi.

If Anakin had managed to surmount all those challenges and decided to stay a Jedi, he might have reached his incredible, true potential someday. Regrettably, following his close brush with death on Mustafar, Anakin’s abilities were significantly reduced even more, as suggested by George Lucas in an interview with Vanity Fair.
