In their initial run, “The Bad Guys” grossed approximately $23.9 million domestically and amassed a total of $97.4 million. The studio opted for an April release, a timeframe often beneficial for animated films. Altering release dates hasn’t been successful for numerous movies in the past, and this approach could potentially present a challenge for “The Bad Guys 2” as well. Alternatively, a summer release would have put them up against the highly anticipated Minecraft film, which boasts significant competition.
