In your first glance at the game Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you may have spotted some striking resemblances to well-known titles such as The Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, and Elden Ring. One of the most evident links to Elden Ring, particularly Dark Souls, is the inclusion of a feature known as Bonfire in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon.
Similar to Dark Souls, Tainted Grail’s campfire offers a variety of activities you can engage in while relaxing near the fire. From casual conversations with Arthur to more critical tasks such as inspecting loot and brewing potions, there’s no shortage of things to keep you busy at your campsite.
What Are Bonfires & How Do They Work?
Bonfires serve as both stationary and portable rest stops, allowing you to plan and prepare for your trip, or speed up your travel with a bit of on-the-go movement.
To ignite a portable fire on your mobile device, press the LT (or L2) button, move up on the directional pad, or press the ‘Q’ key, and choose it from the menu if you’re using a computer.
You possess the ability to set up a movable firepit wherever suitable for you, in addition to fixed firespots scattered across the map, which function as alternatives to your mobile firepit.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that my mobile bonfire is rather limited in its offerings until I’ve managed to ignite it with some fuel. Once I do, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
To ignite your bonfire, you’ll need to gather exactly ten Ethereal Cobwebs. Once you do, this will grant you the power to teleport quickly and craft various items. The Ethereal Cobwebs can be effortlessly harvested from Wyrdspawn or any nighttime enemies.
What Can You Do At A Bonfire?
At The Bonfire, you’ll find various choices available, catering to whether it’s lit or unlit, and whether you carry a Wyrdsoul requiring replenishment.
After being supplied with fuel, your Bonfire becomes ready to assist you in completing numerous tasks. The key distinction between a lit and an unlit bonfire lies in the fact that a fueled bonfire is capable of burning, while an unfueled one remains inert and unable to produce flames.

Here’s every action you can perform at a bonfire, and how each option benefits you:
- Fuel – Use ten Ethereal Cobwebs to ignite your bonfire and unlock further options
- Talk – Speak to Arthur about the latest whispers you’ve unlocked
- Cook – Cook food to increase your stamina and prepare for the harsh environment
- Rest – Choose a time to rest until & gain the well-rested bonus
- Level Up – Select Attributes to increase and perks to use via Skill Trees. Increase the King Soul’s power
- Identify – Unlock undiscovered items such as weapons and crafting materials
- Fast Travel – Choose a destination with a fast travel marker to instantly teleport to the given location
- Alchemy – Select from your ingredients or set recipes to craft potions that can heal you, replenish mana, and more
- Restore Wyrdsoul Power – Restore the charge of your selected Wyrdsoul Power to use it
Primarily, your Bonfire serves as a sanctuary, offering protection against the menacing creatures of the Wyrdness, such as the formidable Wyrdstalker.
It’s important to point out that you need to utilize bonfires for two specific purposes: discovering new items and replenishing your Wyrdsoul Power, as these tasks cannot be performed with other methods of convenience.
Additionally, all other actions can be performed elsewhere, yet they will still be accessible for your convenience within your Bonfire area.
