What We Do in the Shadows Final Season Finally Gets Long-Awaited Release Date

What We Do in the Shadows Final Season Finally Gets Long-Awaited Release Date

As a devoted fan of “What We Do in the Shadows,” I’ve been eagerly anticipating the sixth and final season since the cliffhanger ending of Season 5. The show has consistently delivered laughs, intrigue, and character development for five seasons straight. Each episode builds upon the high-concept foundation laid out in the original mockumentary film, creating a unique and hilarious world populated by vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings.

The FX show “What We Do in the Shadows” has been nominated for Emmys in all five of its previous seasons. With Season 5’s nominations being announced, it seems an ideal moment for those involved to unveil the release date for Season 6 – the last one. According to Variety, Season 6 will start on October 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, with the initial three episodes premiering then. The remaining eight episodes will be released weekly thereafter, and each episode will be available on Hulu the following day.

Intrigued fans wonder, what new adventures await Kayvan Novak’s Nandor the Relentless, Matt Berry’s Laszlo Cravensworth, Natasia Demetriou’s Nadja of Antipaxos, Harvey Guillén’s Guillermo de la Cruz, Mark Proksch’s Colin Robinson, and Kristen Schaal’s The Guide in the upcoming season? Here’s a sneak peek: [Official description for the final season]

Following a short lived experience as a fully-fledged vampire, Guillermo is taking time to reassess his identity. What defines him other than a loyal servant, constantly seeking to please his Master in the hopes of becoming a vampire? Simultaneously, the vampires find themselves at a crossroads. The sudden return of their former roommate from a 50-year slumber prompts them to reflect on their past half century. Not one objective achieved, no dreams pursued, and only their street and a portion of Ashley Street conquered.

What Makes What We Do in the Shadows So Special?

As a dedicated gamer and fan of “What We Do in the Shadows,” I’ve been thoroughly impressed with how consistently the show has delivered throughout its run. With each new season, it feels like we’re walking a tighter and tighter rope, yet the creators manage to keep things fresh and entertaining. The foundation laid by the mockumentary film is already high-concept, but the show takes it to new heights with hilarious and character-driven additions. I must admit, the evolution of Laszlo (Matt Berry) and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) in Season 4 has been nothing short of fulfilling for me as a viewer.

In the fifth season finale, Guillermo’s (Harvey Guillén) situation took a chilling turn, making the long pause between seasons the most challenging yet. Through five seasons, Guillermo became a bloodsucker but failed to fully transform after being bitten by his friend Derek. However, this is not his only predicament. Being transformed into a vampire outside the authority of the master of his familiar is considered taboo in the vampire world. And to make matters worse, Nandor (Kayvan Novak) has now discovered this transgression, which can only lead to complications.

I’m glad the fourteen-month wait is nearing an end. The first trailer for “What We Do in the Shadows” is expected soon, so we won’t have to wait much longer for a sneak peek of the finale. It will be sad to say goodbye to the vampires, but it’s commendable that the show is ending on its own accord before it becomes repetitive, ensuring a lasting impression in our minds.

Once again,
What We Do in the Shadows
season 6 will debut on October 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
