Wheel of Time Fans Are Freaking Out as This Mysterious Character Prepares to Crash Season 4!

In Amazon’s series “The Wheel of Time,” there are still many characters to be introduced, but one I’m eagerly awaiting is a character who has been mentioned previously. This individual is none other than Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, who holds immense power in both his potential political sway and his ability to tap into the One Power. Although men capable of channeling are extremely scarce in “The Wheel of Time,” they do exist, and the concept of “False Dragons” has been discussed before Rand’s declaration.

A False Dragon refers to a man who wields the One Power and wrongfully claims to be the reincarnation of the Dragon Reborn, a figure prophesied in the Karaethon Cycle. This belief may stem from the belief that they fulfill certain aspects of the prophecy or a desire for power. For instance, we’ve witnessed Logain, one of these False Dragons, who incited a conflict before the series began. The Aes Sedai managed to subdue him and suppress his abilities (Gentling), but there are still more male channelers alive, and others may continue to falsely claim the title of Dragon Reborn.

Wheel Of Time Has Referenced Mazrim Taim Several Times

Mazrim Taim Is Confirmed To Exist In The Show’s World

In the series “The Wheel of Time,” Mazrim Taim is a notable character who first appears in Robert Jordan’s books during the novel “Lord of Chaos.” Prior to this, he had been mentioned sporadically throughout the early seasons and novels. In season 2, Liandrin hinted at the emergence of a False Dragon in Saldea, which indirectly refers to Taim. Later on in the same season, Alanna explicitly named him when discussing powerful channelers like Taim and Logain, implying that they could be utilized against the Dark One, underscoring their significant roles.

In the upcoming episodes of the Prime Video adaptation, Mazrim Taim is set to reappear alongside a new character named Faile Bashere. It appears that she may become Perrin’s love interest, and her father, Davram Bashere, has been dealing with Taim’s growing influence in his territory over the past two seasons. This suggests that Taim will play a significant role in the TV series, and it seems they are planning to introduce him sooner rather than later. It remains uncertain whether Taim will make his appearance next season, which is based on “The Fires of Heaven,” or in season 5, which would be adapted from “Lord of Chaos.

Why Rand May Meet Mazrim Taim In Season 4

Rand Needs A Male Channeler To Teach Him

Initially appearing as an ally to Rand al’Thor, Mazrim Taim is more about mutual advantage and convenience than loyalty. Later on, Rand grants him a pardon for his past transgressions, allowing male channelers like Taim freedom from punishment. In the new institution known as the Black Tower, which houses Asha’man (male channelers), Taim takes up the role of an instructor. This part of the narrative implies that Taim may make an early appearance in the show’s adaptation.

In the finale of season 3 of “The Wheel of Time”, Moiraine indicated that a male channeler was required to assist Rand in mastering his abilities. The male aspect of the One Power is notoriously difficult to manage, likened to an unruly river in flood. With her limitations and the absence of Rand’s book character, Asmodean, it seems another teacher might be introduced. There’s a possibility that Logain could fill this role, but the scenario also opens up for the introduction of Mazrim Taim as a potential instructor.

In the fourth season of “The Wheel of Time,” it might be less clear if the Black Tower should emerge, considering the complexity of the factions that will arise following Elaida’s coup and the formation of the Rebel Aes Sedai faction. However, Mazrim could still make an appearance, potentially offering assistance to Rand, paving the way for him to establish his order of male channelers in season 5. Predicting Amazon’s timeline is challenging, but given the hints they’ve provided, it seems likely that we’ll see Mazrim soon.
