Diljit Dosanjh has been living life in grand style for more than two decades, but it’s not like he achieved success overnight. As a singer, he’s now gaining global fame, but there was a time when he was just starting out and had to buy a private jet due to a mix-up. Even though he can afford many things today, that wasn’t always the case.
Reflecting on a memorable experience I shared with Film Companion, I recounted a time when I was working on a Punjabi film and the location for shooting proved challenging to reach by air. The production team graciously arranged a flight for me, an extraordinary first-time experience that took my breath away. As I captured the moment in an Instagram story featuring the jet against the sky as backdrop, everything shifted dramatically.
In Punjabi, Diljit Dosanjh stated, “I wasn’t proficient in English. I often ask those nearby if my English is incorrect. But in this instance, it was accurate. ‘New beginning with a private jet’ – This is what I penned down.” Upon arriving in Rajasthan for the shoot, he learned that various media outlets reported him buying a private jet, causing the singer to exclaim, “Oh my goodness, that’s not true!”
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself in an unexpected spotlight when news of my recent plane purchase swept through the community within just two days. It left me pondering which confidants to share this exciting development with, as there was a risk people might assume it was a publicity stunt. Curiosity piqued, I reached out to the aircraft operator for details about the jet’s cost, hoping to quell any misconceptions and maintain my authenticity.
The individual stated that he had been informed it’s not a significant issue to rent an aircraft. You pay for it only once, and whenever you need it, they will deliver it. In response, he said, ‘I guess I’ve made a big purchase, my treasure has increased.’ The 40-year-old shared this with a chuckle.
In the beginning of 2024, Diljit Dosanjh appeared in the blockbuster movie “Amar Singh Chamkila” alongside Parineeti Chopra. Most recently, he wrapped up work for the third installment of his popular Punjabi film series titled “Jatt & Juliet.”
