As a devoted admirer of the illustrious Moon Moon Sen, I find myself deeply moved by the tragic news of her husband, Bharat Dev Varma‘s demise. Their bond, as strong as steel and as delicate as a jellyfish’s embrace, was a testament to their deep love and mutual respect.
On November 19, Moon Moon Sen’s spouse, Bharat Dev Varma, passed away at his Kolkata residence around 9 a.m. According to ANI, his health took a sudden turn for the worse, prompting his family to call an ambulance from a hospital in Dhakuria. Sadly, he passed away before medical help could arrive. In the past, the actress spoke about their relationship, attributing its strength to her role as a ‘jellyfish’, enjoying the support and reliance on her husband.
Back in 2017, Moon Moon Sen shared insights on her long-lasting marriage with ETimes. She underscored the significance of swiftly resolving disagreements and stressed the power of flexibility in keeping their strong bond intact.
She expressed, “Adaptability is crucial. We always find a resolution rather than letting disagreements linger. I’m much like a jellyfish, preferring to rely on my partner.
During the same discussion, when queried about her daughters, Raima and Riya Sen, marrying someone like Bharat Dev Varma, the actress showed excitement. She mentioned their individual preferences: Raima leaning towards humor and tall men, while Riya placing importance on looks and humorously admitted that their lavish lifestyles might necessitate partners with a solid financial standing.
1978 saw the union of Bharat Dev Varma with Moon Moon Sen, a well-known figure in Bengali film industry. Following her marriage and the birth of her daughters, Moon Moon’s acting career experienced a significant boost.
In a notable breakthrough, she first appeared in the film Andar Baahar, garnering considerable recognition for her daring portrayal. Throughout her career, spanning over multiple years, she has starred in more than 60 movies and 40 television shows, receiving honors such as the esteemed Nandi Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Raima and Riya Sen, her two daughters, have continued to uphold her heritage by establishing themselves in the Hindi film industry (Bollywood). Recently, Riya appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series titled “Call Me Bae,” where Ananya Panday was the main character.
Born into the prestigious royal family of Tripura, Bharat boasted a notable lineage linking him to influential Indian royals. His mother, Ila Devi, was a princess from Cooch Behar and the older sister of the renowned Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. His grandmother, Indira, was the only child of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Vadodara, thus adding to his royal lineage.
