As a dedicated follower of Bollywood and a fan of Ranbir Kapoor, I must say that my admiration for him grew even more after learning about his enthusiasm for henna during the making of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Veena Nagda, the celebrity mehendi artist, shared a delightful anecdote about how Ranbir was eager to have henna on his hands for the scene in Channa Mereya. It’s not every day you hear about a Bollywood superstar being so invested in the intricate details of their character!
In the 2016 movie “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” remember when Ranbir Kapoor sang those emotional lines? While Anushka Sharma as Alizeh was breathtakingly beautiful in a 17 kg bridal lehenga, it was Ranbir as Ayaan who captured everyone’s attention with his wedding outfit. Ranbir had henna designs on his hands during the moving song sung by Arijit Singh. Celebrity mehendi artist Veena Nagda has shared that Ranbir was excited to have henna applied, and she explains how much he enjoyed the process.
In a recent chat with Bollywood Now, Veena Nagda discussed her time collaborating with Ranbir Kapoor on the set of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. As we filmed Channa Mereya, Ranbir expressed eagerness to get temporary henna tattoos (mehendi) on his hands.
Reflecting on those moments with the actor, Veena mentioned, “Ranbir also enjoyed having henna applied to his hands because it was essential for the scene – he needed to look like he had henna-stained hands…”
Veena Nagda commended the Brahmastra actor by mentioning that he always seems to have a great time on set. Additionally, the well-known henna artist shared an amusing story about Ranbir Kapoor during the filming of Channa Mereya. According to Veena, whenever the henna would flake off after drying, Ranbir would come to her to get it fixed again.
During the production of Ayan Mukerji’s 2013 movie, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Veena Nagda was not only part of it but also applied mehendi to Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin. Veena shared that she spent approximately a month and a half filming at an outdoor site in Udaipur.
In regards to her experience working with Deepika and Kalki in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, she mentioned that the actresses desired beautifully applied henna designs on their hands.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In 2016, I found myself deeply immersed in the romantic saga, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” directed, produced, and written by none other than Karan Johar. The film featured the captivating performances of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma as the leading pair. In the second half, the enchanting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graced the screen with her presence, playing a pivotal role. Lisa Haydon was also part of the stellar cast. The charismatic Shah Rukh Khan made an appearance, and Fawad Khan added his charm to the movie. Lastly, Alia Bhatt made a delightful cameo in Karan Johar’s directorial masterpiece.
