Salman Khan stands out as one of Bollywood’s most thriving stars, boasting an enormous fan base. In a recent conversation, renowned writer Chetan Bhagat—a collaborator with Khan on movies like Hello and Kick—recalled an instance when Khan expressed feelings of being similar to a “zoo animal” due to his fame.
During an interview with The Lallantop, Bhagat shared a memory of visiting Salman Khan’s apartment at Galaxy Apartments in Bandstand, Mumbai, when he was still employed at a bank. This visit occurred after Bhagat had already sold the rights to his book “One Night @ the Call Centre” to Salman Khan. Later on, this novel was transformed into the movie “Hello,” which was helmed by Atul Agnihotri, who is Salman Khan’s brother-in-law and a film director.
Bhagat pointed out that the actor who plays Sikandar possesses an unusual ability, akin to a “sixth sense,” which allows him to swiftly decide if he takes a liking to someone. He reminisced about their initial encounter when Khan invited him for collaboration. Nevertheless, Bhagat clarified that he was merely a writer and had to get back to his job at the bank. Remarkably, Khan persisted, urging him to stay on and promising his inclusion in his upcoming movie as well.
In our conversation, the writer mentioned that his interactions with Salman were relatively few during the film Hello, but they developed a rapport while working together on Kick. He noted that he frequently visited the set to chat with him extensively. He particularly emphasized Salman’s sincerity and honesty, stating that he doesn’t pretend or wear a mask.
In the process of endorsing Hello, I had an interview with him and asked about his feelings towards being surrounded by crowds who eagerly seek selfies with him. He responded, “I feel like a monkey in a zoo, but I understand that I’m nothing without my fans,” he confided.
Additionally, he mentioned, “This phrase has always stayed with me. In a similar manner, when I find myself annoyed at the airport, I recall Salman’s words, ‘When this happens, it all happens,’ symbolizing that if something major occurs, everything else will follow.
At present, Salman Khan is thrilled about the debut of his action-packed comedy, Sikandar, which features Rashmika Mandanna as a co-star.
