As an ardent fan of Bollywood, I can’t help but marvel at the fascinating dynamics between our beloved stars and their artistic collaborations. The bond shared by Salman Khan and Mika Singh is one such intriguing tale that adds another layer to the magic of Indian cinema.
Salman Khan and Mika Singh have a strong friendship, and the artist has contributed his vocals to numerous successful songs for the actor. Lately, Mika Singh reminisced about the time when the star asked him to alter a word in his song’s lyrics from “Katrina” to “Jacquelina,” which he graciously complied with.
During a recent chat with The Lallantop, Mika Singh reminisced about an old tale from his friendship with Salman Khan. When asked if the rumor that he altered a line in the lyrics of his song “Sari Duniya Mere Ispe” from the 2011 film Loot featuring Suniel Shetty, Govinda, and Javed Jaaferi was factual, the singer responded…
In his statement, the artist behind “Mauja Hi Mauja” confirmed that Khan requested a change from Katrina to Jacquelina in the song, which he complied with. He wasn’t bothered by this alteration and during that period, he didn’t produce any solo songs. Instead, their joint projects started following this change.
He said, “Ha ji Kiya tha maine change paar par usme woh naraz nahi the loot toh pehle aa gaye, loot ke baad maine bahut sare gane gaye loot tak toh mera koi gana tha hi nahi unke saath.” (Yes, I made the change, but Salman was never upset about it. At the time of Loot, I hadn’t sung any songs for him. It was only after that film that I started working on multiple projects with him).
Additionally, he clarified that he purposefully omitted the name Katrina from the song. Instead, he composes songs for films according to the movie’s specifications. As a result, the character in this particular song had a distinct identity, using various names to suit the storyline.
In the song, the character required certain words for the melody to match the storyline. Salman proposed altering the name from Katrina to Jacquelina, and that’s what I did. Mika mentioned that they switched the word “Katrina” with “Jacquelina,” but he didn’t specify why Dabangg requested such a change.
It’s worth noting that Salman Khan and Mika Singh have a deep-rooted professional relationship, and their friendship transcends into their personal lives. Notably, Mika Singh has provided vocals for numerous successful songs in Salman Khan’s films, such as “Aaj Ki Raat Hai” from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, “440 Volt” from Sultan, “Jumme Ki Raat” from Kick, and “Milegi Milegi” from Race 3.
