When Shah Rukh Khan shot with Hema Malini for first time; ‘Tab mujhe aisa laga ki zindagi mein…’

As a fervent admirer and student of the Indian film industry, I have always marveled at the captivating journey of Shah Rukh Khan, a man whose resilience, talent, and unwavering spirit have illuminated our screens for decades. His recent reminiscence about his first shoot with the legendary Hema Malini serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of chance encounters and the boundless possibilities that life presents.

Shah Rukh Khan’s achievements serve as a source of inspiration for countless individuals worldwide. His rise to fame and success is largely due to his tireless dedication and effort. As SRK prepares to embark on his next venture, King, let’s reminisce about the instance when he looked back at his first shooting experience alongside Hema Malini. He expressed that it was during this time that he truly believed that anything is possible in life.

On The Anupam Kher Show, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about his early days in acting, mentioning that his first shot was at Convent Villa. He recounted Hema Malini showing him how to perform in a particular scene. When recalling the incident, SRK said that Hema ji had given him a lovely line to say and asked him to repeat it in the same manner. He added, “She asked, ‘Will you do it this way?’ I replied, ‘No, only you can do it this way and you’re beautiful, I am not as beautiful. Can I try it differently?'”

SRK shared that Hema ji advised him to proceed as he saw fit. He further stated, “It struck me that in life, the unexpected can occur, and even when we think nothing will transpire, the unexpected can still unfold.”

For those unfamiliar, the movie “Dil Aashna Hai” was the first film that Shah Rukh Khan agreed to star in, though it wasn’t his actual debut. Instead, it was the film “Deewana” that marked his entry into Bollywood cinema.

Recently, I had the immense privilege of being bestowed with an accolade for my contributions to Indian cinema. On August 10, 2024, I graced the stage at the 77th edition of the prestigious Locarno Film Festival. It was during this esteemed event that I received the festival’s Career Achievement Award.

At the celebration, Shah Rukh Khan himself revealed his upcoming project titled “King”. This action-thriller is helmed by Sujoy Ghosh and is slated to begin production by the end of this year. Interestingly, his daughter, Suhana Khan, who debuted in Bollywood with The Archies in 2023, will be starring in this film.
