Where To Catch The Schitt's Creek Cast Since The Season 6 Finale

As a fan who has eagerly followed the lives of the Schitt’s Creek cast since their small-town escapade concluded, I must say, it’s been quite a journey! Dustin Milligan, or Ted Mullens as we fondly remember him, has proven his versatility in various roles post-Schitt’s Creek. His character’s departure to the Galapagos Islands was bittersweet, but the amicable breakup was the perfect ending for a duo that truly understood each other.

In the spring of 2020, when the world was under a strict lockdown due to COVID-19, there was at least one positive development: Dan Levy’s heartwarming comedy series “Schitt’s Creek.” This show, which concluded its run during that gloomy season, was broadcast on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) before it found a wider audience on Netflix in 2017 following the airing of its third season in Canada. This move boosted the popularity of this delightful and funny show significantly, and remarkably, “Schitt’s Creek” rose to become one of the most successful comedies in recent times.

Following the conclusion of the show in April, it went on to win big at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards held in September 2020. The show, which was primarily presented through Zoom and other digital platforms for acceptance speeches, won multiple awards including Best Comedy Series, accolades for writing and directing, and a remarkable feat of winning awards for all four main actors (Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy). This was the first time in history that a comedy series achieved such a significant award milestone. So, what has the “Schitt’s Creek” cast been up to since their final episode “Happy Ending” and the memorable Emmys ceremony?

Dan Levy (David Rose)

In a brilliant display of disdainful facial expressions, grumbles, and biting remarks such as “eat glass,” Dan Levy’s character David Rose swiftly secured his spot in the television character pantheon the moment he fled from his family to live in the wilderness, only to panic when he encountered a bug on his cape. On Schitt’s Creek, David consistently shuns the questionable appeal of the small town that now houses the Rose family, yet his prickly exterior conceals a massive heart; he forms close bonds (with occasional romantic entanglements) with the proprietor of the Rosebud Motel, Stevie (Emily Hampshire), becomes smitten with newcomer Patrick Brewer (Noah Reid), and even establishes a small store named Rose Apothecary, which peddles exquisite artisanal goods reminiscent of upscale suburban or metropolitan shops. In the end, David decides to purchase a residence in the area and settle down in Schitt’s Creek alongside Patrick and Stevie as his family disperses, but following his enchanting wedding to Patrick, it’s evident that for David, this represents a contented conclusion.

Following the completion of “Schitt’s Creek,” one might assume that the Emmy-winning younger Levy would need a rest. However, contrary to that assumption, Levy has remained active in the industry. In 2021, he hosted “Saturday Night Live.” He also played recurring roles on the popular Netflix series “Sex Education” and the Hulu holiday movie “Happiest Season.” Additionally, he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the heartwarming Netflix original film “Good Grief.

Eugene Levy (Johnny Rose)

As a devoted fan, it’s clear to me why Dan Levy recruited his dad, Eugene Levy, for “Schitt’s Creek.” As the quirky and amusingly self-deprecating Johnny Rose, who loses his video store fortune when his business manager swindles him, the elder Levy is a master of understated humor, leveraging his signature eyebrows to maximum effect. Despite his deep love for his children, Johnny isn’t accustomed to being a full-time dad. With the family temporarily living at the Rosebud Motel and seemingly stuck in Schitt’s Creek, he redoubles his efforts to be a better parent. The emotional bonds he forms with both David and Alexis Rose (Annie Murphy) are heartwarming, and he eventually comes to understand that life without all that money might just be richer and more fulfilling. Although he does return to business later, franchising the Rosebud Motels chain.

Eugene Levy barely needs an introduction, between “American Pie,” any given Christopher Guest movie, and brief appearances in cult hits like “Josie & the Pussycats,” and he’s taken it slightly easy since he won an Emmy for “Schitt’s Creek.” In 2023, he launched his travel series “The Reluctant Traveler” on Apple TV+, and in 2024, he joined “Only Murders in the Building” in a recurring role as an exaggerated version of himself … who goes on to play an exaggerated version of Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin). Oh, and in 2024, both Levys — Dan and Eugene — hosted the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Catherine O’Hara (Moira Rose)

Catherine O’Hara initially had no desire to participate in a TV series when Schitt’s Creek came along, but it was fortunate that her friend and frequent collaborator Eugene Levy persuaded her to take part. In the role of Moira Rose, O’Hara is nothing short of extraordinary; she manages to pronounce everyday words in ways that would confuse even Matt Berry, a fellow expert on pronunciation. Moreover, her extensive wig collection makes “Schitt’s Creek” worth watching.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the exceptional talent that is Catherine O’Hara. After earning an Emmy for her remarkable portrayal of Moira, she’s shown no signs of slowing down. Lending her distinctive voice to projects like “Central Park,” Pixar’s “Elemental,” and the highly anticipated 2024 release “The Wild Robot,” she’s also graced our screens in films such as “Pain Hustlers” and “Argylle.” In 2024, she reprised her iconic role of Delia Deetz in Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel to “Beetlejuice,” a role that truly showcases her versatility.

Alexis Rose (Annie Murphy)

In simpler terms, Alexis, the youngest and final Rose family member, is quite eccentric. She’s known for her limp wrists, unique vocal style, and frequent teasing of her brother, earning the phrase “ew, David,” which Dan Levy finds annoying. Her tales about her past are a mix of hilarious, star-studded, and downright perilous, such as her escape from a Thai drug lord’s trunk by bribing him with sex (though she assures everyone Aroon was a kind man until he ran out of money). From her hit song “A Little Bit Alexis” to her heartwarming bond with local vet Ted Mullens, and her achievements in earning both a high school diploma and a college degree, Alexis is hard to look away from. And when she decides to move to New York at the end of the series to pursue a career as a high-flying publicist, it seems fitting for her to embark on this journey independently, leaving behind her family (and Ted) to pave her own way.

Remarkably, it was almost not Annie Murphy who portrayed Alexis, as the initial pilot was filmed with Abby Elliott, daughter of regular cast member Chris Elliott and current star of “The Bear.” Fortunately for us, she seized this opportunity and made the character her own. Following her Emmy win alongside her on-screen family, Murphy delved into darker comedy with AMC’s original series “Kevin Can F**k Himself,” appeared in the “Black Mirror” episode titled “Joan is Awful,” and joined Natasha Lyonne in the second season of “Russian Doll.

Emily Hampshire (Stevie Budd)

The apathetic clerk, later owner, of the dilapidated Rosebud Motel, Emily Hampshire’s character Stevie Budd, is a charming delight – and strikingly relatable for anyone who’s endured an unfulfilling customer service job. In the early stages of the series, she forms an unforeseen intimate relationship with David Rose, and he explains his pansexuality using wine as a clever symbol for one’s sexual orientation. Throughout the series, Stevie and David become inseparable best friends, with Stevie often ready (and eager to neglect work) to aid David in resolving any issue he encounters. She also undergoes personal growth; a notable development sees her excel as Sally Bowles in the town’s “Cabaret” production.

After playing Stevie in “Schitt’s Creek”, Hampshire has continued to act, appearing in the Canadian romantic comedy film “The End of Sex” and serving as its producer. She also took on a supporting role in Jake Johnson’s absurd Hulu original movie “Self Reliance”. As of early 2023, she is now leading the cast of the Amazon original series “The Rig”, a suspenseful supernatural thriller set on an oil rig in the North Sea.

Chris Elliott (Roland Schitt)

In every great comedy, there is a character who serves as the absolute fool, and in “Schitt’s Creek,” that role belongs to Chris Elliott’s quirky character, Roland Schitt. As the long-standing mayor of the town, Roland is never absent, often causing the Rose family immense embarrassment by justifying the town’s peculiarities or enforcing obscure regulations (having held the position since the late 90s). Roland also harbors a strong self-image, boasting about his past as a ladies’ man, but when push comes to shove, he values family above all. When his wife gives birth to their son, Roland Jr., he becomes a devoted father, even going so far as to name him after an unlikely friend – none other than Moira Rose. As Moira and Johnny depart Schitt’s Creek for good, Roland pulls one final prank on them by putting their faces on that infamous, obscene billboard.

Elliott is a renowned comedian who held a long-standing position on “The Late Show with David Letterman” along with other ventures. Following his successful run in “Schitt’s Creek,” he moved on to the Hulu original series “Maggie.” However, this show was unfortunately discontinued after only one season. Additionally, he provided voiceover work for the Netflix animated series “Agent Elvis,” which met an unfortunate end like “Maggie” and did not make it past its first season.

Jennifer Robertson (Jocelyn Schitt)

Where To Catch The Schitt's Creek Cast Since The Season 6 Finale

Jocelyn Schitt — the unnaturally patient wife of eccentric mayor Roland Schitt played by Jennifer Robertson — might be one of the sharpest and smartest people in the entire small town, but she masks her brains with a big sweet smile and a ditzy affect that makes her seem a bit more approachable. Jocelyn wears a lot of hats around town; she’s a teacher at the local school, runs the women’s acapella group the Jazzagals (which, of course, Moira joins), and she even has a hairstyle named after her (the “Jocelyn” is very feathered, very blonde, and a bit dated, but she pulls it off pretty expertly). After having Roland Jr., Jocelyn’s mask slips a little bit and she’s no longer afraid to confront Moira, Roland, or anyone else bothering her while she’s caring for her newborn son (and exhausted), and it’s refreshing; when the series comes to a close, it’s safe to say that Jocelyn and Moira are best friends, even as Moira prepares to move to California.

After her time in the fictional hamlet of “Schitt’s Creek,” it seems that Robertson found herself drawn to small-town life, at least in her screen roles. In 2021, she began appearing on the Netflix original series “Ginny & Georgia” set in Wellsbury, Massachusetts, portraying Ellen Baker, a neighbor and friend to Georgia Miller (played by Brianne Howey) on the show.

Sarah Levy (Twyla Sands)

Where To Catch The Schitt's Creek Cast Since The Season 6 Finale

In the role of the charming, slightly airheaded waitress at what seems to be the town’s sole eatery, Café Tropical – portrayed by Sarah Levy as Twyla Sands – is an absolute joy every time she appears on-screen. The series smartly steers clear from a confusing love triangle involving Twyla, Alexis, Roland, and Mutt (Tim Rozon), allowing Twyla and Alexis to form a genuine bond instead. Intriguingly, when Alexis – known for hoarding designer items – decides to gift some of her collection to Twyla, their friendship deepens.

It’s possible you’ve realized this, but let me clarify: Levy is not only associated with the family business, she’s Eugene’s daughter and Dan’s younger sister. Given that connection, it’s understandable how she landed a supporting role on “Schitt’s Creek,” and has since worked on Canadian projects like “SurrealEstate.” Furthermore, she’s slated to appear in Osgood Perkins’ 2025 horror movie “The Monkey.

Dustin Milligan (Ted Mullens)

Where To Catch The Schitt's Creek Cast Since The Season 6 Finale

In a nutshell, Ted Mullens, portrayed by Dustin Milligan, is kind-hearted, has a knack for animals, and overall, is an outstanding individual. However, it’s logical that he and Alexis Rose won’t end up together in the long run. Initially, Ted appears as a love rival to Mutt, and he faces numerous losses. But once Alexis recognizes her true feelings for Ted, they eventually form a loving, nurturing relationship where Ted appreciates Alexis’ professional ambitions and personal growth. The couple parts ways when Ted secures a research fellowship in the Galapagos Islands. Initially, Alexis agrees to accompany him, but they both acknowledge that the environment isn’t suitable for her, leading to an amicable and heartwarming separation.

After wrapping up “Schitt’s Creek,” Milligan shifted to another fictional small town, “Rutherford Falls.” Regrettably, this show only aired from 2021 to 2022. However, in the same year, he took on roles in movies such as “Mack & Rita” and “The People We Hate at the Wedding,” where he portrayed Kristen Bell’s romantic interest. If you recall the 2018 film “A Simple Favor,” you might remember him for his captivating performance as Anna Kendrick’s brother (and potentially more).

Noah Reid (Patrick Brewer)

Where To Catch The Schitt's Creek Cast Since The Season 6 Finale

In Season 3, the character of Patrick Brewer from “Schitt’s Creek,” played by Noah Reid, makes his entrance, yet it seems like he’s always been an integral part of the show. His initial encounter with David is as business associates working on the Rose Apothecary, but their relationship blossoms into something more profound. Patrick openly expresses his affection for David, a moment poignantly captured in his heartfelt rendition of “Simply the Best” on an acoustic guitar. By Season 5, they are officially dating, but tension arises when Patrick’s parents visit; however, a tender moment occurs where they wholeheartedly accept their son and welcome David into their family. In the end, Patrick and David find contentment in Schitt’s Creek, sharing a beautiful home and running the shop as partners, both in business and life.

As a gamer, I’ve got to admit that music is my primary passion – 2022 saw me releasing four singles from my album “Adjustments,” and in 2024, I dropped an EP titled “T is for Tillerson.” Yet, when time permits, I dive into the world of acting. From 2022 to 2024, I had the pleasure of starring alongside Josh Brolin and Imogen Poots in the Amazon sci-fi Western series “Outer Range.” Sadly, our journey together was cut short in July this year as the show got canceled.

“Schitt’s Creek” is available to stream on Netflix now.
