In the game “Atomfall”, there may be expansive spaces teeming with hidden gems and areas to investigate, even though it’s more compact compared to other RPGs. To assist players, it includes a streamlined travel system to help navigate these open areas more efficiently.
Wondering if the game ‘Atomfall’ incorporates a quick-travel feature to help you move swiftly between its different areas? Although it doesn’t have a traditional fast-travel system, there are methods available to help you navigate the quarantine zone more efficiently.
Can You Fast Travel In Atomfall?
In the game Atomfall, unlike in games such as Fallout and Skyrim, there isn’t a common fast travel system. This means that instead of choosing a destination on your map and instantly warping there, you have to move manually when you wish to return to previously visited locations, which can make revisiting places more time-consuming.
But just because it doesn’t require lengthy walks doesn’t mean there aren’t options to reduce your travel time. In fact, Atomfall offers shortcuts, such as marked entrances on the map that often lead to other regions, helping you navigate without having to traverse the entire route again.
Now, you just need to find the shortcuts.
Where To Find Shortcuts In Atomfall
The primary location where you’re likely to discover shortcuts is known as the major transit hub, or simply “The Interchange.” This is the crucial point you’ll need to pass through in order to progress the main storyline. By navigating through The Interchange, you can uncover shortcuts that will lead you to destinations such as Slatten Dale, Wyndham Village, Casterfell Woods, and Skethermoor.
In the beginning of the game, you can’t just stroll into The Interchange and rely on signs to guide you. Since several parts of The Interchange are shut down due to power shortages at first, you’ll need Atomic Batteries to energize the entire building. Once powered up, additional sections of The Interchange will become accessible. After that, you can use wall-mounted signs to locate entrances for each region. Do keep in mind though, that some of these paths may be guarded by outlaws, Protocol soldiers, automated turrets on the walls, and even colossal B.A.R.D. Robots.
The village of Wyndham serves as a central point with routes branching off to Slatten Dale, Casterfell Woods, and Skethermoor. Provided you keep the Protocol soldiers guarding the town happy, you can access each area from here.
The Sewer Tunnels in Slatten Dale is another place where shortcuts can be found. You can enter at 28.0 E, 79.4 N, but there’s a second entrance at 24.7 E, 78.2 N that needs you to trade with Molly for a key. Inside, you’ll face hostile druids, but after defeating them, you’ll discover paths out of the sewers leading to Casterfell Woods or Wyndham Village.
To reach the destination of Skethermoor more quickly, you can traverse through the Slate Mine Caves located in Slatten Dale. These caves have two access points. One is positioned at the start of the game, found near coordinates 28.9 E, 71.1 N. The other entrance lies close to the Slatten Dale Radio Tower, specifically at coordinates 30.0 E, 73.5 N. Upon entering the mines, you’ll encounter a man named Reg Stansfield with whom you can converse. Once you speak with him, proceed to your left, and you’ll discover a path leading to Skethermoor.
