Which OG Suits Stars Are Suits: LA Cast Dying to See Return?

Initially, when it was announced that there would be a spinoff of “Suits” called “Suits LA” in the 2025 TV schedule, there was no hint that it would have any connection to the original “Suits.” However, in November 2024, it was revealed that Gabriel Macht would reprise his role as Harvey Specter for three episodes. Furthermore, we can now anticipate the returns of Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt and David Costabile as Daniel Hardman. With these familiar faces returning, one might wonder which original “Suits” cast members could make an appearance in “Suits LA.” Lex Scott Davis shared her preferred pairing during a recent conversation with me, and I would be excited to see that duo on the spinoff too!

Apart from Davis discussing future developments at Black & Associates since the Lester Thompson trial concluded, she also hinted that Gina Torres’ character Jessica Pearson might visit Suits LA. This suggestion came up during our conversation about how it feels to have Suits actors joining the spinoff where she stars with Stephen Amell, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. Davis initially brought this up by stating:

It’s a privilege to share the same narrative realm as the authentic Suits universe, if you catch my drift. Their return is a gesture of endorsement and a symbolic handover, inviting us into this shared universe. I appreciate this because it also underscores that we aren’t separate entities; instead, we form one extended family. We collaborate harmoniously, and it’s an honor to have them reprise their roles. After all, we’re all part of the same Suits legacy.

As a movie reviewer, I’ve noticed that so far, the only “Suits” tie that’s been forged in “Suits LA” is through Gabriel Macht’s role as Harvey Specter from his appearance in “Batman Returns,” albeit in a 2010 flashback storyline for the show. However, it’s heartening to see actors like Rick Hoffman and David Costabile lending their talents to this spinoff, which allows dedicated “Suits” fans to witness how these well-known characters engage with the fresh faces joining the cast.

Originally, when Suits ended its nine-season run on USA Network in 2019, it seemed unlikely we would return to that world. However, something unexpected happened – the series gained popularity on Netflix in 2023. By February 2024, a spinoff titled Suits LA received a pilot order. We don’t yet know if the show will be renewed for another season, but actress Lex Scott Davis is hopeful that Erica Rollins and Jessica Pearson could cross paths, should that happen. As she further explained:

I can only cross my fingers that I’ll get the chance to act alongside Jessica and Erica, as it would be a blast for me. Additionally, if we’re fortunate enough to continue with Season 2, there might be more opportunities for our original cast members to rejoin. I truly hope to share a scene with both of them; I’m visualizing it, constantly sowing seeds, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that she’ll be the next one we get.

As a huge fan, I’d say I was captivated by Gina Torres’ remarkable portrayal during the initial seven seasons of Suits. She was instrumental in establishing the law firm where all the principal characters were based. Later, she decided to embark on her own journey, leaving Suits behind and stepping into the spotlight for Pearson. This spinoff found Jessica relocating to Chicago and making a name for herself in the city’s political arena. Unfortunately, Pearson only ran for one season, but like Suits and its LA counterpart, it can be enjoyed with a subscription to Peacock.

In the last two seasons of Suits, Jessica Pearson wasn’t present, but if a chance arises for her to travel to Los Angeles due to legal matters, I share Lex Scott Davis’s optimism that this will occur. The idea of Jessica teaming up with Erica is quite appealing and adds another compelling reason as to why we should look forward to Season 2 of Suits LA.
