While Defending Taylor Swift, A Metal Guitarist Fired Shots At Beyoncé

As a long-time gamer and music enthusiast, I have always been intrigued by the ongoing debate between Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, two iconic artists who continue to dominate the music industry with their talent and creativity. Having grown up listening to both artists, I’ve developed my own perspective based on my personal experiences and musical tastes.

As a long-time music enthusiast and follower of the industry, I’ve witnessed the ongoing debate between Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s musical prowess for years. Having grown up listening to both artists, I’ve formed my own opinions based on their unique styles and impacts on the music scene.

In an episode of the “Scandalous Podcast,” the Exodus band member was questioned regarding the “Taylor Swift issue.” In response, he shared his thoughts on this topic.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but admire Taylor Swift’s unyielding work ethic. Her kindness towards everyone around her is truly remarkable. It’s baffling why some people harbor hatred for her, especially considering she’s the most successful popstar on Earth today. I find myself humming along to her catchy tunes and embracing the pop genre with open arms.

I’ve always had a soft spot for catchy tunes and upbeat rhythms, so it comes as no surprise that I find myself gravitating towards pop music more often than metal in my car. However, when the topic of songwriting came up during a recent interview, the host made a snide remark about Swift’s music being “glittery.” This comment caught me off guard and led me to reflect on my own criteria for evaluating musical projects.

I’ve always been intrigued by the music industry and its inner workings. With my background as a music journalist, I’ve had the opportunity to witness some fascinating collaborations between artists. However, I must admit that I was taken aback when I heard about Beyoncé’s latest song featuring thirty contributors.

To provide some background, let’s examine the two notable hits released by Beyoncé and Taylor Swift this year: “Texas Hold ‘Em” from “Cowboy Blessing” for Beyoncé, and “Fortnight” from “The Agonized Scribes Club” for Swift. Here’s how the songwriting credits are acknowledged:

  • Texas Hold ‘Em: Written by Beyoncé, Brian Bates, Elizabeth Lowell Boland, Megan Bülow, Nate Ferraro and Raphael Saadiq per Billboard
  • Fortnight: Lyrics by “Austin Post, Jack Antonoff, Taylor Swift,” Produced by the same three, and composed by Antonoff and Swift, per NME.

According to Billboard’s article about Beyoncé’s album “Cowboy Carter,” no track was penned solely by her, and most have more than three credited songwriters. Concerning Taylor Swift’s latest work, “TTPD,” as reported in NME, the primary lyricists and producers mentioned are Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner, and Swift herself. The exceptions include Post Malone (also known as Austin Post) and Florence Welch, who contribute in these roles for the songs they feature on. Swift wrote a few songs from this album on her own as well.

Holt continued by expressing his difficulty in identifying individual contributions on modern songs with numerous credited artists, before praising Swift’s distinguished musical reputation.

The guitarist expressed his appreciation for Taylor Swift’s gesture of tipping truck drivers at the conclusion of her North American tour leg. He wondered if Beyoncé also did the same thing. It was evident that Swift held a greater fandom in his heart, and he openly shared his feelings about Beyoncé towards the end of the discussion.

I think Beyoncé is the most overrated talent on Earth. I think she’s marginally talented.

I’ve had the privilege of observing the music industry from a close perspective for quite some time now, and one thing that never fails to leave me in awe is the camaraderie between artists. Taylor Swift and Beyoncé are two prime examples of this beautiful sisterhood.

Last summer, I was blown away by the powerhouse performances of two music artists. Not only did they each release concert films based on their tours in cinemas, but they also headlined massive stadium shows. And to top it all off, they both dropped new albums not too long after that. Talk about making a statement!

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been in awe of the remarkable talents of Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Their music has the power to move me like no other artists. Yet, despite our mutual appreciation for their artistry, people can’t seem to agree on who’s the better one. Though we root for both queens and I’m fortunate enough to enjoy their creations, the ongoing debate is unlikely to fade away anytime soon as they continue to create music that resonates with us all.
