Recently, I wouldn’t have imagined myself streaming “Beast Games” using a Prime subscription. Since its announcement, I dismissed it as a copy of “Squid Game,” having already watched both Season 1 and the spinoff reality show. However, chance made me watch an episode, and now I must confess that Mr. Beast’s Amazon series is more unsettling than anything I’ve seen with my Netflix account.

A while back, I shared my thoughts on how Squid Game: The Challenge might have surpassed the original Squid Game, and now I’m reiterating that Beast Games has taken the lead. Initially, I thought it was just a spin-off of the initial concept, but there’s one significant difference that sets it apart. In contrast to Squid Game: The Challenge, which combined games requiring skill with some element of luck to determine the winner, Beast Games offers something unique.

At Beast Games, the competition often becomes very personal, and players are often asked to make tough decisions that may impact their chances of winning or those of others. Remarkably, numerous participants are ready to forfeit the opportunities of many others for a prize of only $20,000.

As a devoted fan, I must express that this competition truly shines with an intense, cut-throat dilemma. Teams of three were given the task to determine among themselves who would step down, allowing the remaining pair to progress. If no agreement was reached, all three faced elimination. To put it simply, it’s been some of the most gripping television I’ve seen so far in the 2025 lineup.

However, when contemplating how $100k could significantly improve my life, and the slim chances of winning $5 million against numerous competitors, the idea of receiving a modest compensation while potentially eliminating a few random individuals doesn’t seem as unappealing anymore.
