As a devoted fan, I must say that “Daredevil: Born Again” has truly taken me by surprise in the best possible way! This series on Disney+ stands out as the most brutally intense show I’ve ever seen, yet it manages to captivate both critics and viewers alike. It’s safe to say that it has retained, if not surpassed, the greatness of its previous Netflix run.
Among all the aspects that make this show shine so brightly, there is one particular element that has left me utterly spellbound: the scenes featuring Vanessa and Fisk. The chemistry between these characters is nothing short of mesmerizing, adding depth and richness to the storyline that I find impossible to overlook.
Despite the introduction of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, the recent episodes featuring Vincent D’Onofrio and Ayelet Zurer’s characters have kept me more engaged. In a series reboot where I anticipated thrilling scenes of Matt Murdock dishing out justice across Hell’s Kitchen, I find myself most intrigued by an MCU villain undergoing therapy with his spouse.
I’m Glued To The TV During Fisk And Vanessa’s Couples Therapy Scenes
Let me clarify, the relationship between Wilson Fisk and Vanessa has always been intriguing. Her appreciation for Kingpin, combined with her knack for shining light on his dark side, is a recurring theme. In fact, it’s crucial to the plot of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, so it’s not as if Daredevil came up with something entirely new.
What’s been added, though, offers a richer exploration of Vanessa and Wilson’s bond that wasn’t present in the initial Netflix series. Watching them engage in verbal sparring during therapy with Dr. Heather Glenn is just as compelling as when they were romantically involved. One might assume that Fisk keeping his wife from jail time would be enough to secure her unwavering loyalty and adoration, but it seems there’s more to it.
In the captivating series Daredevil: Born Again, Vanessa and Wilson’s challenges are intricate and layered, which makes me eagerly anticipate each new episode as I log into my Disney+ account. I can’t help but question if the therapy they’re undergoing is yielding results, and I’m curious to see what unfolds in between sessions. Does anyone else share this curiosity?
It strikes me as unlikely that Kingpin, having learned from therapy, would keep his one-time lover, Adam, captive in a hidden dungeon for dinner. This action seems at odds with genuine growth and progress. I can’t help but wonder how Vanessa might respond if she were to learn the truth about Adam’s fate.

Watching Villains Navigate Their Everyday Lives Is So Fascinating
Maybe it’s due to the fact that superhero series and films often focus on the perspective of the hero that piques my curiosity about what villains are up to in their non-nefarious moments. For instance, I often find myself wondering: What does The Joker buy when he goes grocery shopping? Or does he employ someone else to handle his shopping needs?
Both “Daredevil” and “Daredevil: Born Again” have been effective at providing a deep insight into the character of Wilson Fisk, however, it’s important to note that he is a villain that isn’t particularly challenging to represent. It’s not difficult for viewers to accept the daily workings of a crime lord in New York City, especially since “Echo” has set him on a path towards pursuing his political ambitions.

With Disney+, you can stream Daredevil: Born Again and the entire Marvel library! It’s perfect for family entertainment, and now there’s an affordable ad-supported plan starting at just $9.99 per month. If you prefer an ad-free experience, it’s available for $15.99 a month, or save 16% by prepaying $159.99 annually. Check out the deal now!
In this series, Wilson Fisk’s life is portrayed in a way that gives viewers a deeper understanding of him, making him seem more human despite his monstrous actions. Typically, Marvel villains are presented as one-dimensional because we only get to see their motivations and viewpoints from a limited angle. However, this series avoids that issue, offering a perspective I find increasingly valuable as the story unfolds.
It seems that “Daredevil: Born Again” excels when it explores Fisk beyond his usual surroundings. A humorous instance occurs when he’s forced to listen to children singing “We Built This City” in a classroom, which showcases the inner turmoil of this character quite effectively. I believe it’s accurate to say that Fisk feels just as awkward in therapy sessions and having to open up emotionally about what matters most to him in front of someone he barely knows. Marvel deserves credit for understanding how impactful these scenes would be on the audience.

I Do Wonder Why We The Audience Are Being Shown This
In the captivating series Daredevil: Born Again, it’s intriguing to observe Fisk and Vanessa navigating their marriage. However, I can’t help but ponder over the intensity given to this aspect of the storyline. If their relationship had achieved a steady state without requiring therapy, would it still seem unusual? After all, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its unexpected twists!
It seems quite plausible that the writers have devised a straightforward route for Fisk to provoke Matt Murdock, should he harm or threaten Heather Glenn. This scenario appears to be leading towards a confrontation between these two characters, given Fisk’s current lack of involvement in his ongoing conflict with corrupt cops in Hell’s Kitchen. Perhaps this plot point exists solely to build up the anticipated showdown between Fisk and Daredevil as the story approaches its climax.
Could it be that understanding the developments with Fisk and Vanessa throughout this season holds significant weight? Perhaps their relationship is nearing its demise, particularly if she uncovers proof that he’s not truly committed to the work they’re discussing in therapy. The prospect of a contentious divorce between them might pose a threat even greater than any other for New York City, as it could lead to maneuvering against each other with far-reaching consequences. Hopefully, the therapist is doing everything possible to reconcile these two lovers.
Every time therapy scenes unfold in Daredevil: Born Again, they keep me eagerly anticipating Tuesdays on Disney+ at 9:00 p.m. ET. The rest of the season has me hooked, and I’m looking forward to more intriguing interactions between Wilson and Vanessa.
