Aamir Khan’s next film, “Sitaare Zameen Par,” is preparing for its imminent premiere. As the actor embarks on a promotional tour, he has disclosed that restless nights and anticipation leading up to a movie release are positive indicators for him. During an interview with Galatta Plus, Aamir Khan revealed that he typically can’t sleep before a film’s release and becomes anxious because he is eager to share the work he has created. However, there was one film in his entire career where he managed to get a good night’s sleep before its release – and the reason will leave you surprised!
In a nostalgic moment, Aamir Khan shared that he had predicted the poor performance of “Thugs of Hindostan” as he personally felt the movie wasn’t up to the mark. Reflecting on the past, he remembered a conversation with his former wife Kiran Rao. He said, “Kiran asked me two weeks before the release of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, she said, ‘You seem very relaxed these days, why are you so calm?’ I replied because I’m not pleased with the movie and I don’t believe it will succeed.
Aamir Khan, often referred to as “The Perfectionist”, expressed that since he was aware the movie didn’t turn out as planned, he had no feelings of worry or tension. In his own words, “Anxiety comes when you’re eager to share what you’ve created and believe it’s good, hoping others will appreciate it—yet you’re unsure how they will respond.” The actor concluded by stating that there would be no anxiety if there was no excitement about the project.
As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, let me share some insights about a film that created quite a stir – Thugs of Hindostan. This epic released back in 2018 was a significant event because it marked Aamir Khan’s first box office flop since 2005. The production house behind this masterpiece was the esteemed Yash Raj Films. Interestingly, Thugs of Hindostan also brought together two legends, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, on screen for the very first time. Alongside these powerhouses were Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh, who played crucial roles in this period drama.
Under the direction of Vijay Krishna Acharya, the movie Thugs Of Hindostan failed to impress at the box office, earning only Rs 138.50 crore during its entire domestic theater release.
