Why Does Deadline Keep Censoring Hollywood in Toto?

At first, this reporter chalked it up to a glitch.

Recently, the creator of HiT has faced some challenges in managing the comments section. Being a solo entrepreneur, my responsibilities include writing and editing articles, marketing them across social media platforms, and handling the backstage operations.

Dammit, Jim, I’m a writer, not a tech guru.

In simpler terms, this implies that some of your comments might not have been noticed or addressed promptly, but improvements have been made to reduce such occurrences in the future. This statement serves as both an explanation and an apology for those who shared their thoughts but didn’t see them published on the site.

A few weeks ago, I shared some feedback on Deadline.com, but I wasn’t surprised when I didn’t see it appear in the website’s comment section.

It happens.

Furthermore, it seems that the platform is staffed with an adequate number of editors, journalists, and other personnel. Deadline often receives numerous comments on each article, suggesting they employ some sort of mechanism to weed out questionable or troublesome remarks.

The HiT platform aims to eliminate most coarse language and personal insults, maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere that is suitable for a PG-13 audience.

Yet my Deadline comments kept falling through the cracks. So I tried it again. And again.

Nothing.

Lately, I captured a screenshot of my response to that story right as I was about to click on the “submit comment” button.

As a dedicated film enthusiast, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of comments for that movie on the website. Over the course of at least two days, I found myself repeatedly hitting the refresh button on my browser, hoping for an update. To ensure there was no cookie-related issue, I even resorted to using Incognito mode a few times.

Nothing.

I contacted two of the website’s editors for assistance, sending them the image attached for better understanding. What could be causing this problem? Do they have any insight or explanation? I mentioned that I plan on writing about it soon, but I wanted to allow their team the opportunity to clarify the situation first.

I’m all for olive branches between the Left and Right.

No answer.

The feedback given on this specific topic is frequently negative towards Deadline.com, but that’s not a problem. Readers are free to express their criticism of the content provided by the website. If you find fault with my reviews, don’t hesitate to voice your opinion.

Think my political posts are beyond the pale? Let your voice be heard.

Occasionally, some feedback towards HiT authors may be harsh, yet it does occur. I find myself hesitant to share such comments due to my attachment to the writers at HiT, but ultimately, I choose to tolerate it. That’s the trade-off we face when expressing our opinions publicly online.

I’m hoping that Deadline.com reconsiders its approach in the future. Constructive criticism might sting at times, but it often indicates a more promising direction.
