The result is that I postpone everything until after the Oscars, only to find myself having to catch up on all my commitments following the Oscars.

Given this commitment, it’s not surprising that he might hesitate to take on another Academy Awards ceremony. After all, his talk show is his main job, and he wouldn’t want to neglect its responsibilities.

After the former host of The Man Show turned down another opportunity to emcee, fans of awards shows are eagerly anticipating who will step into the role instead. It’s been reported that John Mulaney was offered the job, but he too declined, even though he would have been a great fit given his successful stand-up comedy special Kid Gorgeous.
From my perspective, it would be fantastic if Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez were to accept the task. I believe they would each contribute an excellent mix to the event. Regardless of who gets selected, Jimmy Kimmel is due recognition for building such a remarkable legacy and demonstrating wisdom in deciding when to conclude his career.
While it’s yet to be determined who will replace Jimmy Kimmel as host, it’s certain that the 97th Academy Awards will be broadcasted on ABC on March 2nd, 2025.
