Why Timothée Chalamet Says He Got a $79 Fine After Riding a Bike to ‘A Complete Unknown’ London Premiere

It seems Timothée Chalamet needs to stick to rolling up to movie premieres in cars.

Last few days ago, the actor made headlines by showing up at the London premiere of A Complete Unknown on a Lime bicycle. Pictures circulating online (see below) depict Timothée Chalamet donning a navy blue suit complemented with a lime green and white bike.

This past week, the actor caused a stir at the London premiere of A Complete Unknown as he arrived on a Lime bicycle. Check out the photos below to see Timothée Chalamet dressed in a sharp navy blue suit with matching green and white bike details.

Electric bicycles known as Lime bikes can be rented from the Lime transportation company in significant urban areas.

Yet, it was disclosed on the talk show “Quotidien” during his promotion of the biopic in France, that instead of being arrested as previously thought, he received a fine of approximately £65, or $79.53, for improperly parking his bike.

As a gamer, I’d spin it like this: “I couldn’t hop on a bike for the eco-friendly ride to the premiere due to a nasty traffic snarl. Instead, I had to grab a car, which got me there on time but ended up causing some unexpected issues.

The actor from Wonka remarked jokingly, ‘It was truly awful, as it seemed more like a promotion for Lime,'” or simply, “‘It was dreadful; it felt like an ad for Lime,’ said the Wonka actor with a wink.

An Unrecognized Face” presents Timothée Chalamet as the iconic musician Bob Dylan. The movie, set in 1961, tells the story of an unidentified 19-year-old musician who travels to New York City with his guitar and builds connections with musical legends during his swift rise to fame. This journey culminates in a landmark performance that echoes globally.

This movie, directed by James Mangold, is currently being recognized as a strong contender for major awards this season. Timothée Chalamet received a nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Film at the 2025 Golden Globes, although Adrien Brody ended up winning for “The Brutalist.” Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg has listed Chalamet as his top pick for the Best Actor Oscar nominations this year.
