In response to public criticism following the release of a video where actor Sonu Sood was seen riding a bike in Spiti Valley without a helmet or proper safety equipment, causing local authorities to consider taking action, Sonu explained that the scene was part of a movie script. However, this explanation sparked further controversy as it occurred not long after Sonu had advocated for road safety and considering his wife’s recent car accident injuries, making the situation more delicate.
On Tuesday, Sonu Sood publicly spoke about the recent debate stirred by a video showing him on a motorbike without a helmet, which was previously known as Twitter. This video garnered significant interest and ignited numerous conversations across various platforms.
He made clear that the video was old and had been staged, not a real occurrence. To underscore his dedication to safety, Sonu additionally posted a fresh clip showing him cycling with a helmet on.
Sonu posted the video with the message, “Safety is key. (Helmet icon). We always follow rules, the earlier clip not wearing a helmet was part of our plan. Therefore, please disregard it. STAY SAFE. RIDE INTELLIGENTLY. ALWAYS USE A HELMET,” he emphasized.

A social media account posted various videos of Sonu’s journey to Spiti, featuring Sonu riding a motorcycle without a shirt and wearing protective goggles. The video clips depict Sonu biking on snowy mountain ranges alongside a band of fellow riders, all dressed casually in shorts, sunglasses, and without shirts.
As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but share this update: In light of the extensive online backlash, the courageous officers of the Spiti Valley Police have declared, on the specified date, their intent to instigate legitimate legal proceedings against none other than our beloved Sonu.
The Spiti authorities made an announcement regarding X, stating they plan to respond to allegations against Sonu. The statement said, “A clip is circulating online, seemingly depicting a Bollywood star breaking traffic laws in the Lahaul-Spiti region. Preliminary findings suggest the footage may originate from 2023.
According to the Spiti police, it’s the DySP Headquarters in Kyelang who have been tasked with checking the truthfulness of the video.
It was stated that the local police will pursue appropriate legal measures following the results of their investigation. Additionally, the Lahaul-Spiti District Police asked everyone, including locals and visitors, to obey traffic laws and demonstrate cautious and respectful conduct.
