Will Avengers: Doomsday Kill Marvel Heroes or Just Save the Universe?

I’m not the only one who feels this way, but I have some apprehensions regarding the Avengers facing off against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. Given that Wanda Maximoff single-handedly brought the Avengers to their knees in the past, it’s worrying. Throughout the MCU, Wanda’s powers have grown significantly. From controlling telekinesis and manipulating minds, she has progressed to destroying an Infinity Stone and exploring various dimensions in search of America Chavez. This peaked when she annihilated every copy of the Darkhold across the multiverse, even sacrificing herself in the process (although her death raises questions).

Given the present situation, this death implies that the Avengers will lack one of their strongest allies when they face off against Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. It remains uncertain whether the Avengers will initially field a complete team, since only a few possible names were mentioned in the cast list for Avengers: Doomsday. However, even if the X-Men outnumber the current roster of Avengers, I believe they are still at considerable risk due to one major factor.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Sacrificing The Illuminati To Show How Powerful Scarlet Witch Is Has Ignited A Fear For Me With Avengers: Doomsday’s Cast

Will The Avengers Fall To The Same Fate As The Illuminati?

In the movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, Scarlet Witch displayed her peak power, thanks to the Darkhold, but at a cost – she fell under its corrupting influence and embarked on a path towards villainy. This immense strength allowed her to overpower an entire contingent of sorcerers at Kamar-Taj, causing worry for the mightiest sorcerer, Doctor Strange. However, this accomplishment was overshadowed by her later rampage in Earth-838, where she swiftly defeated the Illuminati, the most powerful heroes of that world.

The movie “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” could have been a crucial part of the Multiverse Saga, but Scarlet Witch doesn’t hold the same high-ranking position as an Avengers arch-nemesis. However, her ability to eliminate powerful characters mirrors that of Thanos, who effortlessly defeated Hulk and killed Loki in his initial scene from “Avengers: Infinity War.” Similarly, both Wanda and Thanos’ power was immediately shown – a concern is that this method will be used again in “Avengers: Doomsday,” with Doctor Doom swiftly overpowering one or more of Earth’s strongest heroes.

Avengers: Doomsday Is Way More Likely To Kill Off Fox Heroes Than Its Own

Fox’s X-Men Are Probably Going To Die In Avengers: Doomsday

It’s unlikely that Marvel Studios would choose the Avengers as victims when introducing Victor von Doom’s immense powers due to the new team barely having time to assemble before being eliminated. An intriguing choice, but instead, it seems plausible that characters from the Fox X-Men universe are at greatest risk, especially since they are confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, appearing in an alternate universe likely the same one Monica Rambeau entered at the end of The Marvels.

From a movie critic’s perspective, it seems rather unlikely that the current X-Men cast from Fox will make it through the tumultuous events of “Avengers: Doomsday.” Their advanced ages pose challenges in seamlessly integrating them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and it appears Marvel Studios might be gearing up for a younger, more vibrant ensemble to don the X-Men suits.

Should these characters meet their untimely end in this epic showdown, there’s an intriguing possibility that Doom would be the one to deliver the fatal blows. Not only would this highlight Doom’s formidable abilities, but it would also serve as a poignant moment for fans of the superhero genre – given the deep connection many have formed with these iconic characters over the years.

How Avengers: Doomsday Can Avoid Sacrificing The Movie’s Marvel Heroes Just To Make Doctor Doom Look Strong

Doctor Doom Could Flip The Script

Rather than following the same pattern as previous MCU stories, Marvel Studios might choose a different path entirely. I’d find this more appealing, considering that killing or subjugating powerful characters has become a recurring trope within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, in Avengers: Doomsday, Doom could take things a step further by destroying an entire universe instead. This would effectively showcase his power without necessitating the death of cherished Marvel superheroes. Targeting variants would achieve the same effect.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, several of its memorable villains have showcased their might without causing the death of another formidable character. Hela is a prime example, as her debut scene involved shattering Mjolnir, establishing her as one of the most potent figures in the MCU without physically harming Thor or Loki. In “Avengers: Doomsday,” it would be intriguing to witness a comparable scene with Doctor Doom, or perhaps even create a twist by having Doom save an entire universe by manipulating the multiverse and demonstrating his dominance over even natural laws.
