Will Beast Return To The MCU After His The Marvels Cameo? Kelsey Grammer Opened Up About It

As a longtime fan who has been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception, I am thrilled about the prospect of Kelsey Grammer returning as Beast in future installments. His portrayal of Hank McCoy in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past was iconic, and his cameo in The Marvels was a delightful surprise.

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and the X-Men film rights, I’ve been eagerly anticipating mutants joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although Deadpool and Wolverine have been the most noticeable additions thus far, a significant nod to the X-Men was dropped in The Marvels’ end credits, with Kelsey Grammer portraying Hank McCoy, aka Beast, in a parallel universe where Monica Rambeau resides. However, will this rendition of Beast reappear following his cameo in the 33rd Marvel movie and become a regular character?

Grammer discussed Frasier Season 2 during an interview with ComicBook, which will become available to Paramount+ subscribers on September 19. When the topic of Beast arose in their conversation, specifically if we can expect more of him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor replied:

When I arrived at the conclusion of The Marvels, there seemed to be a significant reaction – perhaps even more than I had anticipated. This response was quite intense and left me with numerous discussions to follow.

Despite Nicholas Hoult having portrayed Beast in multiple X-Men films during the “First Class” era, it was Kelsey Grammer who first brought the character to life on screen through 2006’s “X-Men: The Last Stand”. He made a brief appearance at the end of “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, both times wearing makeup. However, in “The Marvels”, Beast was realized through CGI, with only Grammer’s voice being used. Hank McCoy’s appearance in the movie was one of its biggest surprises, and since then, discussions have taken place about the character possibly returning, although no definite news has been announced as of yet.

In the conflict against Dar-Benn, Monica Rambeau, portrayed by Teyonah Parris, sealed the portal that the antagonist had created to grab Earth’s water for Hala and siphon our sun’s energy to revive the one near the Kree homeworld. Monica, working alongside Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) and Kamala Khan, managed to accomplish this task, but ended up being marooned in another dimension. This realm is unique as it features an active Beast as a member of the X-Men. Notably, Monica also encountered a different version of her mother, Maria Rambeau, who is known as the superhero Binary, but she did not have a child with her.

If Marvel plans to include Monica in one of their future movies, it’s likely that Kelsey Grammer’s character, the Beast, will be featured alongside her. Potential movies for this could be “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Avengers: Secret Wars,” as these are expected to conclude The Multiverse Saga. Additionally, there is a possible X-Men reboot in development, which might occupy one of the MCU’s 2027 release dates. Given that this reboot could feature a new team of X-Men, it’s plausible that Beast may be part of this group. If so, let’s hope a new actor is cast for this version of Beast, allowing Grammer’s Beast to carry on in his own reality.

In the event that Kelsey Grammer reprises his role as Beast, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. Until that time, consider streaming “The Marvels” and almost the entire library of Marvel Cinematic Universe content available through your Disney+ subscription.
