Will Chris Pine Star in ‘The Princess Diaries 3’? Actor Says “Call Disney. Call Bob Iger.”

As a fan who grew up watching the enchanting world of Genovia unfold on the silver screen, I can’t contain my exhilaration upon hearing the news about another Princess Diaries film! Chris Pine’s return to the realm of royal romance, especially after 20 years, feels like revisiting an old friend who has just returned from a grand adventure.

Chris Pine is reacting to the news that another Princess Diaries film is underway.

On Tuesday, during his appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, Chris Pine spoke about the exciting news that Anne Hathaway will reprise her role in “Princess Diaries 3”. Pine previously co-starred with Hathaway in “The Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement”, which was his first movie role.

In the movie, Chris Pine played Nicholas Devereaux, who developed feelings for Mia Thermopolis, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. They declared their affection for one another in the finale of the 2004 sequel.

Twenty years have passed, and it’s hard to believe. Yet here we are. More people have approached me about this than any other accomplishment in my life. I’m genuinely thrilled, as it was a truly remarkable experience,” Pine shared with Fallon.

Even though he’s thrilled about it, Pine acknowledged that he can’t disclose any specifics regarding the movie. “I first learned of it online when someone shared a screenshot with me,” he explained.

Instead of his comment, “Pine joked about Hathaway’s announcement where she appeared to be relaxing outside while revealing the news. He described her as lounging in a beautiful garden wearing glasses in reference to the actress’s Instagram post which hinted, ‘The fairy tale continues.’

Reflecting on my character, I can’t help but chuckle at the sheer volume of my hair in that role. “Man, it was just massive!” I exclaimed as Fallon displayed a picture from the movie. As a gamer, I can relate this to leveling up a character and finding myself with an unexpectedly large sword or shield – it’s all part of the experience!

Apart from his appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna, Pine casually mentioned his lack of knowledge regarding rumors about him starring in the third film, saying, “I don’t know a thing.

He made a joke, saying he’d call Disney and their CEO, Bob Iger. In reality, he has no information about it. He finds it incredible.

News about the third movie arrives as we celebrate the 20-year anniversary of “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement,” a sequel that came after the initial hit “The Princess Diaries.

Adele Lim, a screenwriter known for her work on “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Joy Ride,” will take over directorial duties for the third film. Garry Marshall, the original director who brought the Meg Cabot book adaptation to life, passed away in 2016.

Debra Martin Chase, a key producer in the first movie, is coming back to oversee the production of the third film. Naia Cucukov, Lim’s business partner in production, will also be an executive producer, as will Melissa Stack. The most recent script was penned by Flora Greeson.

This movie, titled “The Princess Diaries,” revolves around a teenager named Mia Thermopolis. She learns that she is next in line to become queen of a European country called Genovia. Her grandmother, who is played by Julie Andrews, then helps Mia get ready for her royal duties. In the film, we also see performances from Mandy Moore, Heather Matarazzo, and Hector Elizondo.

As an ardent enthusiast of the initial ‘Princess Diaries’, I’m thrilled beyond words to contribute to the creation of the third version of this cherished series,” Lim expressed in a statement. “We eagerly anticipate sharing its fundamental themes of female empowerment, happiness, and guidance with audiences globally.
