Will.i.am., along with “The Bear” co-showrunner Joanna Calo and Emmy-winning composer Laura Karpman are all confirmed to take part in panel discussions during the Lighthouse Campus Festival, happening on February 11-12 in Venice, California.
Over a span of two days, an event jointly hosted by Whalar Group and Tribeca Festival takes place. This event signifies the grand inauguration of The Lighthouse Venice campus, which aims to unite LA’s artistic minds. Furthermore, this event continues Tribeca’s expansion into the creative industry, following the launch of their creators-focused vertical last year.
A two-day event by Whalar Group and Tribeca Festival is happening, marking the start of The Lighthouse Venice campus (a place for LA artists) and continuing Tribeca’s journey into the creative world after they introduced their section for creators last year.
The event features movie showings, discussions, and hands-on sessions led by industry professionals in areas such as film, television, music, podcasting, culinary arts, and beyond.
Beyond the stages shared by will.i.am., Calo, and Karpman, the festival will present a director’s screening of “Bob Trevino Likes It” followed by a talk with Tracie Laymon. Additional speakers include Conal Byrn, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group, Mike Cessario, CEO of Liquid Death, contemporary artist Hebru Brantley, founder of Make Big Talk Kalina Silverman, Hayden Hillier-Smith, and co-founder Colin Rosenblum of Colin and Samir.
Following the Los Angeles wildfires, the Lighthouse Campus Festival intends to aid dislocated artists by offering them production facilities, creative assets, and a workspace to refine their skills. Moreover, each festival speaker has opted to contribute their fees towards the California Fire Foundation, thereby assisting firefighters and affected communities in their rebuilding efforts.
As a devoted admirer, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to infuse some of Tribeca’s unique charm and exceptional artists from film, television, and music at The Lighthouse Campus Festival. In a statement, Jane Rosenthal, co-founder of Tribeca and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, expressed this very sentiment. She believes that when storytellers across various fields collaborate, exchange ideas, and learn from each other, the results are truly remarkable. That’s why Tribeca is eager to foster such interactions. In her words, “We need community, and we need stories that ignite our spirit.
Jon Goss, president of Lighthouse, expressed his gratitude for launching the Lighthouse Venice campus alongside a vibrant community of storytellers. This partnership with Tribeca is crucial in fostering the ongoing collaboration between Hollywood and the rising generation of social media creators. Our objectives closely match at this intersection, which is essential to the ecosystem we’re creating.
