As an ardent fan of Prakash Jha’s gripping narratives, I find myself both excited and intrigued by his recent revelations about the sequels to Gangaajal and Raajneeti. While the news that Gangaajal 2 is a fresh story rather than an extension of the original might initially seem disappointing, the promise of a new head constable at the helm stirs anticipation for what could potentially be another masterpiece.
In simpler terms, Prakash Jha directed not one, but two extraordinary films titled “Gangaajal” and “Raajneeti”. These movies were both box office hits and received positive feedback from critics, leaving viewers eagerly waiting for sequels. Recently, the director has revealed his plans regarding these potential sequels. Additionally, there’s speculation about whether Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor might be involved in future projects helmed by Jha. So, keep an eye out for more updates!
During a conversation with Mid-Day, Prakash Jha clarified that Gangaajal 2 is not a continuation of the 2003 crime drama film he wrote, directed, co-produced, and edited. Instead, it presents a new narrative centered around a head constable.
Speaking as a lifestyle expert, allow me to share some exciting insights about the upcoming sequel to the captivating political drama, Raajneeti. In this continuation of the original tale, you’ll find that the narrative picks up right where it left off in the first film. The renowned director, for his part, has hinted that the second installment serves as an expansion of the initial storyline. To clarify further, my character, Samar Pratap (portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor), may have ventured abroad, but rest assured, he remains integral to the unfolding saga.
In the very same conversation, when someone inquired whether Ajay Devgn and Ranbir Kapoor would continue in their respective roles for these film series, Jha declined to share any information regarding a repeat cast.
He added humorously, “A decade back, you could have a direct chat with an actor, share your story, and persuade them about it. Nowadays, however, it’s their assistants and managers who review the scripts that come their way. So, getting through to them requires navigating various levels of management.
Although he appeared slightly annoyed by the new management of the actors, he indicated a willingness to collaborate with the original cast and the two stars of the program if fitting roles come up for them. Regarding this matter, the Apaharan director stated, “If a suitable project arises, they will be reached out to, but I don’t maintain constant contact with them.
In a nutshell, the film “Gangaajal” boasted an impressive cast of 87 actors and was honored with the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues. On the other hand, “Raajneeti” showcased stars like Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Sarah Thompson, Naseeruddin Shah, and numerous others.
Simultaneously in his professional life, Ajay has been occupied with the projects Raid 2, De De Pyaar De 2, and Son of Sardaar 2, whereas Ranbir Kapoor is engaged in filming Ramayana: Part 1 and Love & War.
