Will Smith’s ‘The Matrix’ Teaser Is Reportedly For His New Music Project

It appears that fans were taken aback when Will Smith shared a hint suggesting he might be acting in the latest Matrix film, yet insiders assert that this has no connection to the forthcoming Warner Bros. endeavor.

According to Deadline, it appears that the 56-year-old artist is currently developing a new music album – if this information is correct, it would be his first release in two decades; his most recent work was the 2005 album “Lost and Found”. Further details about the project have yet to be disclosed.

In a social media post, Smith shared an infographic detailing his past connection to the Matrix film franchise: Back in 1997, the Wachowskis proposed that Will Smith play Neo in The Matrix. However, he declined the offer, opting instead for Wild Wild West. One can only wonder what The Matrix might have looked like if Will Smith had taken on the role of Neo. His post ended with the intriguing phrases “Wake up Will…” and “The Matrix has you…

The movie titled “The Matrix” turned out to be a popular film series starring Keanu Reeves as Neo. It was disclosed in April 2024 that the fifth part is being worked on, with Lana Wachowski, one of the original co-directors, serving as executive producer and Drew Goddard taking up the director’s role. However, neither Keanu Reeves nor his co-star Carrie-Anne Moss have confirmed their participation in this new installment yet.

Check out the teaser below and stay tuned for more info.
