As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the trends shaping Bollywood and beyond, I must say that the Maddock Supernatural Universe is quickly becoming one of the most intriguing and exciting franchises in Indian cinema. The recent success of Stree 2, starring Aparshakti Khurana, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and others, has left audiences craving for more supernatural comedy.
Aparshakti Khurana is enjoying the triumph of his latest movie, Stree 2, which hit theaters this year. This horror-comedy, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is the newest addition to the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The upcoming film in this universe is rumored to be Vampires of Vijay Nagar, with Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead. Aparshakti has hinted at a potential reunion with his brother within this cinematic universe.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Aparshakti Khurana was questioned about his brother Ayushmann Khurrana entering the horror-comedy genre. In reply, he couldn’t disclose much about Ayushmann’s movie. Yet, Aparshakti described the script as quite ‘unusual’ or ‘offbeat’.
Discussing a potential collaboration, Aparshakti shared his thoughts on the prospect of various realms in the supernatural cosmos intertwining. He expressed, “If all the domains (of the horror-comedy cosmos) eventually blend, and our world does the same, it promises to be an exciting adventure! Bhaiya and I have always been keen on working together. Fingers crossed, we’re excited about the possibility!”
Previously this year, it was exclusively disclosed by TopMob that the making of Vampires in Vijay Nagar is underway. Our sources reveal that producer Dinesh Vijan will be teaming up once more with the director of Munjya, Aditya Sarpotdar, for this upcoming film.
A trustworthy insider disclosed, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan, who have a strong creative relationship from their previous project ‘Bala’, have been discussing ‘Vampires of Vijay Nagar’ for some time. They plan to begin filming by the end of this year.”
Actress Rashmika Mandanna has been selected as the main female character. According to reports, this will be her first project with Ayushmann Khurrana. Both actors are set to bring something special to the movie, which promises to catch viewers off guard. The script is currently being written and will soon move into the pre-production phase. Filming is expected to begin in November.
Two cosmic-themed films premiered this year: “Munjya,” featuring Abhay Verma and Sharvari, proved to be a hit. On the other hand, the sequel to the 2018 movie “Stree,” titled simply “Stree 2,” has been making waves at the box office since its August 15 release. Critics and audiences alike have praised this comedy for its humor, acting, music, and overall production quality.
In the new installment, Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishee Banerjee reprise their characters from the previous movie. Notably, Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Akshay Kumar made significant guest appearances. The film is helmed by director Amar Kaushik, with Niren Bhatt handling the screenplay. It is a production of Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande.
In addition to the other actors, Aparshakti garnered much acclaim for his performance, and his soothing lullaby Soft Chitti Warm Chitti brought laughter from the audience.
Apart from Vampires of Vijay Nagar, Bhediya 2 and Stree 3 are also in development at Maddock Films.
