Back in the day, the Arrowverse stood as DC Comics’ top live-action franchise. However, we find ourselves in 2025, and all eyes are fixed on James Gunn’s plans for the upcoming DCU. Yet, a vast multiverse exists, and series such as The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow still have devoted followers clamoring for more content. It isn’t outlandish to imagine that fans with Max subscriptions might eventually be treated to an Arrowverse film, given Grant Gustin and others appear open to the idea.
At Fan Expo Cleveland, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, along with Gustin, shared optimistic views on potential participation in a hypothetical Arrowverse film. Laura Hurley from TopMob was present at the convention and reported that the cast generally expressed enthusiasm towards this idea.
- Grant Gustin: “Yeah.”
- Tom Cavanagh: “100%, absolutely.”
- Danielle Panabaker: “I’m available!”
- Grant Gustin: “We are actors with families.”
- Candice Patton: “We got bills to pay!”
- Tom Cavanagh: “We are all available! We are in, fully in!”
It’s been approximately two years since the series concluded, yet it seems several key actors are keen on reprising their roles for an Arrowverse film, assuming one is in development. Since The Flash finale hinted at more stories to come, it might not be too challenging to entice them back into the narrative for a movie, considering the story aspect. Personally, I’d enjoy exploring Barry’s children further, as we barely touched upon their potential abilities.

Grant Gustin, the star of The Flash, consistently expressed confidence that the spinoff of Arrow would enjoy a prolonged and widely admired run. However, one of his co-stars wasn’t as convinced.
It’s not debatable that fans are eager for the return of the The Flash team, and indeed they are. However, it’s reasonable to question whether DC executives share this desire. After all, Grant Gustin was excluded from the The Flash film, despite Ezra Miller appearing in The CW series years ago. This seems odd, given that Gustin’s TV show had a significant impact on the movie’s development, considering it was one of the factors that led to the film’s production in the first place.
Under James Gunn’s vision, it appears that everything in DC is undergoing a significant transformation, and his upcoming Superman movie seems poised to kick off this new phase. While the Arrowverse has reached its conclusion with Superman & Lois, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and hope for its potential return. Regardless of the slim chances, I eagerly anticipate witnessing such an exciting shift in DC’s storytelling.
Although it remains uncertain whether The Flash will resurface in any shape or form, you can stream the series on Netflix with a subscription to The CW. Despite some inconsistencies in its later seasons, I firmly believe that this show ranks among the finest superhero television productions ever made, and if given another opportunity, I would relish rewatching it from scratch.
