As a gamer with a keen eye for fashion, I must say that Willy Chavarria’s latest creation, The Jalisco, has truly caught my attention. Coming from someone who has spent countless hours customizing virtual characters, I appreciate the attention to detail and unique design flourishes that Chavarria brings to his work.
Following the launch of intentionally soiled undergarments under his premium brand “Dirty Willy Underwear,” fashion designer Willy Chavarria is back with another unique, inventive piece. For the first time, Chavarria has collaborated with American shoe manufacturer Allen Edmonds to create his debut shoe design.
In simpler terms, the Jalisco shoe is a sophisticated version of a formal Derby, which is essentially an Oxford shoe made with perforated leather sections. It has a discreet split-toe detail that gives it a distinctive look, enhanced further by a Cuban-style heel.
Visualizing Jalisco as the latest informal footwear, the Derby too carries its distinctive “WC” monogram in understated gold leaf.
Chavarria expressed his long-standing appreciation for Allen Edmonds, noting their exceptional quality and skillful workmanship. However, he was astonished by the masterpieces the craftsmen in Port Washington are able to create. He hadn’t realized that a shoe of such luxury pedigree could be made right here domestically.
Beginning on September 6th, the Jalisco shoe is set to premiere during Willy Chavarria’s Spring 2025 catwalk event as part of New York Fashion Week. From then on, you’ll be able to buy this shoe online or from Allen Edmonds retailers starting next year.
