As a long-time fan of HGTV and a Chicago resident, I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming Season 5 of Windy City Rehab! Alison Victoria has always been a shining star in the home renovation world, and it’s heartening to see her persevere through personal and professional challenges.
Alison Victoria, star of Windy City Rehab, has experienced various professional and personal transformations since her popular HGTV show first aired in 2019. Despite these changes, her dedication to the series that catapulted her to fame remains strong, as she continues to help people in her native city of Chicago find their ideal homes. In anticipation of Season 5’s release on the 2024 TV schedule, Victoria discussed the significant shifts viewers can expect and the fresh start that new episodes will bring after her legal issues.
What Did Alison Victoria Say About The Big Changes And ‘Reset’ Of Windy City Rehab Season 5?
Initially, Windy City Rehab was a huge hit for HGTV and its cast members. However, issues arose soon after the first season’s premiere. Alison Victoria’s business partner and contractor, Donovan Eckhardt, faced the revocation of his permit rights in the city and his contractor’s license. Furthermore, legal disputes against the production started accumulating.
As a devoted admirer, I’d rephrase it like this: Right from the start, Victoria tirelessly worked on acquiring and customizing properties that homeowners would adore. As we moved towards Season 5, she shared with TV Insider her view that this season would serve as a “reset,” bringing about substantial changes. When asked to compare these episodes to those of Season 4, she described them as significantly different.
For me, this season is undeniably a refreshing change. I’ve managed to get out from under all the complications and am fully committed to the client sector. In the market, it wasn’t opportune to make another purchase at the start of the season. Returning to my initial position in the client industry feels like a pleasant restart.
If you’re curious about what a competitor on the “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” means by returning to “the client business,” it signifies a significant shift for most of Season 5. Rather than purchasing dilapidated historical properties and restoring them, Victoria is now focusing on what she did in her real-life real estate career: seeking out clients who already own homes and redesigning them instead.
In a surprising turn of events for Windy City Rehab star Alison Victoria, the construction of her ideal dream home has resulted in an enormous debt owed to friends amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In the heat of dealing with my former business partner’s fallout and the mountain of legal complications it brought, such as Eckhardt’s lawsuit against HGTV’s parent company claiming I faked tears on the show, and the production company, I came to terms with the crushing weight of these financial struggles combined with the volatile housing market. It was simply beyond my means to keep purchasing properties in hopes of flipping them for a substantial return.
It’s hardly surprising for a homeowner to find that a house not tailor-made for them may fall short in meeting their requirements. Consequently, Victoria effortlessly found new clients, as she went on to explain.
As a passionate home enthusiast, I’ve found myself inundated with requests to design dream homes for others. However, with my own projects taking priority, I wasn’t able to take on these exciting opportunities until now. My inbox was overflowing with potential clients, each one eager to transform their spaces into homes they would love.
According to the passionate swimsuit designer who adores beaches, the outcome promises a season filled with “warmth” and “incredible creations”. She expressed feeling incredibly satisfied after seeing all the hard work, undoubtedly making viewers twice as eager to see it.
Windy City Rehab Season 5 starts Tuesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. EST on HGTV.
