Wolverine Killed The X-Men - But It's Too Horrific To Show In The MCU

As a long-time gamer and avid comic book reader, I’ve seen my fair share of dark twists and turns in the superhero universe. But even for someone with a hardened heart like mine, the moments when Wolverine turned on his fellow X-Men were particularly disturbing.

As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of the Marvel Universe, I’ve come to realize that Deadpool’s darker moments are just too intense for the usual MCU vibe. Mostly, it’s when Deadpool fully lets loose and gives in to his homicidal side. But with the arrival of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” we’ve been given a glimpse into some of these grisly actions from Wolverine.

In “Old Man Logan” by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, there are moments with Wolverine that would be too grim for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One such instance involves him slaughtering all of the X-Men within their mansion. Although it’s revealed that this was due to Mysterio manipulating his perception into believing the X-Men were intent on massacring young mutants, the scene remains shockingly grotesque. To add fuel to the fire, Wolverine later regains consciousness and realizes he had inadvertently clawed through Jubilee, a girl who considered him as a father figure. Isn’t it disturbing how messed up things can get?

In the “Old Man Logan” tale, Wolverine’s actions are disturbing and not an isolated event. Previously, he attempted to kill his teammates, though the outcome didn’t result in a large number of mutant casualties. Nonetheless, it was quite extraordinary on its own.

Magneto sent Wolverine to kill the X-Men

Mark Millar frequently delves into Wolverine’s troubled past in his writing, such as during the “Tomorrow People” storyline of his collaborative work on “Ultimate X-Men” with Adam Kubert. In this narrative, Wolverine is depicted working undercover for Magneto and the Mutant Brotherhood, carrying out missions to neutralize their adversaries. Although this particular plotline doesn’t result in Wolverine eliminating his enemies, a specific scene suggests this possibility.

In “Ultimate X-Men” issue 3, Wolverine brutally attacks his X-Men teammates during a training session in the Danger Room. However, this is just a computer-generated simulation. After Wolverine has savagely cut down his teammates, Professor X enters to remind him that he’s only meant to spar with them. Although it’s not actual killing, such intense violence might be too intense for a Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

In the end, Wolverine chooses to stand against Magneto and joins forces with the X-Men instead. This decision thwarts Magneto’s malevolent scheme that involved using Wolverine as a lethal weapon. However, this turn of events also underscores the formidable power and potential danger that Wolverine possesses, as demonstrated by his sharp adamantium claws.
