Among the top-notch true crime documentaries on Netflix, Worst Roommate Ever has come back for a second season this year, and due to its popularity, Blumhouse Television and Netflix have collaborated to produce a chilling spin-off series titled “Worst Ex Ever“. This new series is one of the most startling offerings on Netflix currently, as it delves into instances where love transformed into intense hatred, culminating in heinous murders. The accounts shared in gruesome detail are beyond shocking, but the numerous warning signs make “Worst Ex Ever” all the more unsettling. Now, let’s examine these red flags.

In the first episode of Worst Ex Ever, Benjamin Obadiah Foster, an Oregon native known for his solitary nature, sets the stage for an intriguing Netflix series. In 2012, he met Amber, who quickly became his girlfriend, and their bond seemed strong. However, a twist in their relationship unfolded when Amber unintentionally assisted her former fiancé. This act sparked Foster’s jealousy, leading to complications that ultimately affected their plans for marriage.
In the early stages of their relationship, there was a significant warning sign that Amber, looking back, perceives differently. Growing up in Oregon, Foster had a strong affinity for the outdoors and developed an intense fascination with weapons such as guns and knives. This interest extended to him bringing several knives home and showing them off to Amber. While this might have appeared as a casual pastime, the way he handled those knives in front of Amber was chilling. Foster would sometimes pretend to slice her throat with the sharp blade, which he found amusing at the time. Amber initially dismissed his behavior as a joke, but upon learning about the heinous crimes he later committed and becoming the focus of the shocking story in Worst Ex Ever, she now finds recalling those encounters spine-tingling.

Since the two of them got along very well, Mei introduced Eric to her daughter Rosa, and even though he was always rather shy, especially around women, Rosa made it easy for Eric to come out of his shell. It was clear right away that they had the same expectations for life. They wanted to get married, have children, live in a white picket-fenced house, and enjoy family life together. Well, they did get married, but after that, everything went downhill at lightning speed.
During their post-wedding trip, instead of celebrating their newfound love and shared time, Eric and Rosa’s journey took a dark turn as a fight erupted between them almost immediately upon arrival. This dispute escalated to an alarming degree, with Rosa acting out in ways neither of them had anticipated. In the heat of the argument, Rosa went beyond acceptable behavior and struck Eric. Overwhelmed by his wife’s violent actions, he overlooked a major warning sign and persisted in their marriage, driven by his commitment. Tragically, the hostility didn’t subside there; Rosa attempted to isolate Eric from his family, falsely accused him of wrongdoings, and ultimately conspired with her mother on a sinister plot that nearly cost him his daughter and his life.

Following the sudden demise of Seemona’s father, she found herself struggling to communicate with anyone. However, when a charming police officer visited her restaurant, he captivated her and offered comfort and assistance. This encounter flipped her world on its head. Their bond was characterized by joy and mutual support as he aided her in the restaurant while fulfilling his duties as both a police officer and detective. Nevertheless, a single phone call dismantled Seemona’s relationship. A woman phoned her and disclosed that Jerry was actually her husband, they had two children together, and he had been deceiving her about his occupation. Enraged but maintaining composure, Seemona promptly ended their relationship.
After their breakup, Jerry’s behavior could have been straight out of the Netflix series “Worst Roommate Ever.” Despite her ending things with him, he persisted in living with her for months. The most glaring warning sign was discovering that Jerry was already married and appeared to still be residing at Seemona’s place.
Her Husband Bodyshamed Her During Pregnancy
In the Netflix Top 10 series, another tale revolves around Amanda and her former spouse, Kevin. Their connection, much like others we’ve discussed earlier, began during their youthful days. They clicked instantly upon meeting, and Amanda’s family, save for her sister who found him arrogant and peculiar, warmly welcomed him. With her father’s blessing, they exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony, and before long, their first child arrived. Two more children soon followed, and while Kevin, who was rarely affectionate, found parenthood captivating, he often took out his frustration on Amanda.
In one of her pregnancies, my admiration for Kevin took a turn as he showed an appalling side that I never expected. Yet, despite the enormous warning signs waving in front of me, Amanda chose to dismiss them and minimize the situation. His actions towards her were abhorrent – he would verbally attack her, repeatedly calling her derogatory names such as “crybaby” and body-shaming her while she was pregnant. His behavior became so unbearable that Amanda no longer recognized him. Tragically, their relationship persisted for far too long. When Amanda finally made the decision to file for divorce, the animosity he had cultivated led him to hire someone to take her life. However, fatefully, this assassin ended up murdering Amanda’s sister instead. The chilling tale of this relationship can be found in “Worst Ex Ever,” now streaming on Netflix.
