In a manner reminiscent of other Soulslike games, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers presents demanding boss battles that gamers may find challenging, particularly during their learning phase when they’re yet to grasp the combat and mechanics. The game boasts an array of weapon options, encouraging players to explore diverse playstyles and ultimately choose the one that resonates with them most effectively.
Selecting a tool that suits your playstyle and becoming proficient with it will significantly ease the game’s difficulties. One of the initial significant hurdles is the tutorial boss, Bai Kru, and this guide discusses the outcomes if you successfully conquer it in ‘Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’.
What Happens If You Beat Bai Kru in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
As soon as the game starts, players take charge of Wuchang. Your objective is to make your way towards the Reverant Temple. Inside this temple, interact with various NPCs and engage with the Donations Box to secure your pre-order rewards. Once outside, you’ll encounter the first Shrine which offers an opportunity for leveling up. Going down some stairs, you’ll come across an NPC who triggers the initial boss battle of the game. A cutscene will unfold, and you’ll find yourself in a vast arena where you must engage Bai Kru in combat.
Since players won’t receive health enhancements or level-ups, this introductory battle could prove challenging. Unlike typical tutorial fights in many games, if Bai Kru defeats you, you will be instantly transported out of the arena and prevented from battling this boss again.
This means that you will be locked out of the boss rewards on your current playthrough.

If you’re able to overcome the boss, you’ll earn five Red Mercury Essences. These aren’t ordinary items; they function as Skill Points that can be utilized at any Shrine. Having them will provide a significant boost, enabling you to access powerful skills earlier in the game.
How to Beat Bai Kru in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
In this battle against the boss, you’ll get just one opportunity to emerge victorious. Your only source of healing are three flasks, so make sure you use them wisely. The boss doesn’t have a vast array of attacks, but mastering the art of precise dodging will be crucial. One move you should anticipate is when the boss stands at a moderate distance from you, it will leap toward you on two occasions.
This attack is incredibly simple to avoid. To make the battle less challenging, consider standing at a moderate distance from the boss. This will likely cause the boss to keep using this attack over and over again, making it easier for you to dodge and counterattack.

In addition, the boss possesses an extended-reach assault that sprays water upwards. Be vigilant and prepared to dodge sideways if it executes this move instead of jumping. It’s quite noticeable, so with some practice, you should be able to dodge it effectively.

It’s crucial to avoid overusing your opportunities to attack after an encounter. Specifically, following the double leap attack dodge, limit your Longsword strikes to twice. The boss has a variety of strike and slam attacks that can be evaded, but be cautious not to excessively dodge or spam the action.
