Wuthering Waves 2.2 Banners – New Characters and Weapons

The next release for Wuthering Waves, titled “Tangled Truth in Inverted Tower (version 2.2),” offers an exciting array of novelties: a brand-new area known as Avinoleum, innovative gameplay mechanics, richly rewarding events, and the introduction of a fresh character.

As a thrilled fan, I can’t help but share the excitement for the upcoming update on March 27th! This isn’t just any update; it brings back familiar faces and introduces new characters that players can recruit via the forthcoming banners (convenes). Alongside these characters, there will be weapon banners designed to boost their stats. What makes this update particularly captivating is the return of some of the game’s finest characters!

Upcoming Wuthering Waves Banners

Similar to many Gacha games, the Wuthering Waves banner is divided into two distinct periods. During the initial phase, you’ll encounter the character sets “Neptune’s Lullaby” and “End of Lost Trail,” as well as the weapon types “Whispers of Sirens” and “Red Spring.” This phase will be active from the launch of version 2.2 (March 27) until April 17.

Neptune’s Lullaby – Phase 1

As I delve into the captivating world of Neptune’s Lullaby, I find myself controlling a striking new character named Cantarella. Her movements are strikingly similar to Kokomi from Genshin Impact, which instantly resonates with me as a gamer. Her kit, however, sets her apart as an effective sub-DPS, offering a unique healing ability that benefits her entire team, making her an invaluable addition to my roster.

Her emblem additionally showcases four-star figures Danjin, Chixia, and Yuanwu. If you’re looking for a versatile character as a dupe, Danjin could be an excellent option to aim for.

  • *NEW! Cantarella – 5-star (Havoc, Rectifier)
  • Danjin – 4-star (Havoc, Sword)
  • Chixia – 4-star (Fusion, Pistols)
  • Yuanwu – 4-star (Electro, Gauntlets)

End of Lost Trail – Phase 1

The sign showcases Rerun from Camellia, a top-tier damage-per-second (DPS) character in the game. Her popularity has led to another appearance of her within barely three months’ time.

  • Camellya – 5-star (Havoc, Sword)
  • Danjin – 4-star (Havoc, Sword)
  • Chixia – 4-star (Fusion, Pistols)
  • Yuanwu – 4-star (Electro, Gauntlets)

Starting April 17th, I’m excited to delve into the second stage of Wuthering Waves v2.2! This phase will focus on a solo character rerun, “Till the Sea Turns Clear,” and a weapon banner, “Stellar Symphony.” Can’t wait to see who’ll join my team and what new weapons I might obtain!

Till the Sea Turns Clear – Phase 2

In the second stage of Wuthering Waves version 2.2, the Shorekeeper is set for a single run. This character consistently ranks high on Support Tier lists as one of the top supports within the game, comparable to Verina. At present, there aren’t many five-star character supports in the game, and it remains uncertain when players might acquire another one.

The banner re-run she’s advertising showcases four-star characters, namely Baizhi, Sanhua, and Aalto. Among them, it is advisable to obtain copies of Sanhua because she stands among the top Hybrid characters in the game. Baizhi, too, is recommended to acquire duplicates for as she serves as a good support character if one doesn’t have Verina or missed out on Shorekeeper in the gacha draw.

  • Shorekeeper – 5-star (Spectro, Rectifier)
  • Baizhi – 4-star (Glacio, Rectifier)
  • Sanhua – 4-star (Glacio, Sword)
  • Aalto – 4-star (Aero, Pistols)

Who to Pull For

In Version 2.2 of Wuthering Waves, it’s challenging for players to decide whom to draw as there are three outstanding characters available. If you’re seeking a remarkable DPS character, Camellya would be your ideal choice. She requires minimal practice to master and is arguably the game’s top Area of Effect (AoE) damage dealer. Her AoE attacks swiftly eliminate numerous enemies, and she has the unique ability to hover, enabling her to dodge most ground-based attacks.

Her damage output will stay reliable throughout the battle without needing her Ultimate ability, placing her at an advantage compared to other DPS (Damage Per Second) characters. Additionally, she’s a delight to control as you twirl and twirl to eliminate enemies. If you have extra Astrites, you can acquire her unique weapon, but it’s primarily useful for her alone.

If you’re seeking an alternate supportive character instead of Verina, Shorekeeper could be your ideal pick. She stands as a reliable and dependable option for support roles, complementing Verina well. What I find particularly appealing about Shorekeeper is her Resonance Liberation ability, which significantly increases the Critical Rate and Critical Damage of all team members when activated.

Beyond just healing, she consistently nurtures the entire team, making her an adaptable addition to virtually any team setup. You won’t need to worry about lacking a specific character to optimize her abilities. However, keep in mind that she heavily depends on Concerto Energy regeneration, so prioritize her Intro and weapons like Variation or her signature weapon for optimal performance. If you’re considering pulling her, it would be beneficial to also aim for her “Stellar Symphony” signature as well.

From another perspective, as Cantarella is relatively new and there will be trials for development, it’s yet undetermined if she can function as a hypercarry (like Zhezhi carry), a sub-DPS, or a support. Her ability, Resonance Liberation, causes Diffusion on all team members. When a character with Diffusion launches an attack, Cantarella retaliates by coordinating attacks, enabling her to inflict damage even without spending time on the battlefield.

She additionally possesses healing abilities that restore HP for the whole team, giving her a supportive role to some extent. Given her current skill set, she seems to embody the characteristics of a Hybrid character. The way she is built could determine whether she functions as a secondary DPS or continues to provide support.

Wrapping up here at the Wuthering Waves 2.2 gathering, I sure hope you snag those desirable pulls and hit that 50/50 jackpot!
