As a seasoned wrestling fan with over three decades of watching WWE, I can confidently say that the current state of factions is nothing short of thrilling! From the electrifying Legado del Fantasma to the mysterious Wyatt Sicks, each group brings its unique flavor and style to the ring.
It’s clear that WWE has experienced significant growth in recent years, and I believe the resurgence of factions plays a crucial role, not just the individual stories like Cody Rhodes’ conclusion or CM Punk’s sudden comeback. We have an abundance of fantastic groups such as Judgment Day, Bloodline, and Damage CTRL, who are not only winning titles but also giving fans unforgettable moments.
As a gamer, I’m always on the lookout for the top factions to join. Here are my thoughts: The Bloodline 2.0, led by the formidable Solo Sikoa, certainly has an intimidating presence with their dominant and vicious reputation. On the other hand, the Judgment Day seems to be rising in power following Summerslam 2024. Lastly, we have the Wyatt Sicks who made a splashy entrance into the ring and delivered an impressive debut performance. Let’s delve deeper…
Just a heads up, we’ll be focusing on groups with at least three individuals and a recognized name for the rankings. Let’s proceed once everyone’s clear.
12. The Final Testament
If we’re talking about ranking based on debut appearances, The Final Testament would likely be high up. However, the excitement surrounding the team made up of Karrison Kross, Scarlett, Akan, Rezar, and Paul Ellering doesn’t extend much beyond their initial introduction, which is unfortunate. Since they formed in January 2024, they haven’t accomplished much, with Snoop Dogg’s commentary at WrestleMania 40 and a defeat at the hands of Odyssey Jones being the main highlights of their career so far.
11. The Pride
The faction known as The Pride, comprising Bobby Lashley, Angelo Dawkins, Montez Ford, and B-Fab, is undeniably one of the most thrilling groups in WWE. However, similar to The Final Testament, their opponents at WrestleMania XL, their achievements since forming in July 2023 have been relatively limited. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Lashley’s contract is due to expire in August 2024, which may signal the disbandment of this team.
10. The O.C.
For roughly ten years, The O.C., or The Club as it’s also known, has had an on-and-off presence across various wrestling promotions. Consisting of AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Michin, all with international experience under their belts, this team has provided entertaining viewing throughout the years. Nonetheless, despite shifting between SmackDown and NXT, and not accumulating much championship hardware, they’ve not seen a great deal of triumph for these ex-Bullet Club members.
9. The Latino World Order
In recent wrestling events, such as WCW and WWE, the Latino World Order (LWO) resurfaced, initiated by Rey Mysterio prior to WrestleMania 39. Since then, this group has remained active. However, after some adjustments to its roster, the current LWO members include Rey Mysterio, Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde, Zelina Vega, and Dragon Lee. Despite their higher ranking within the group, Rey’s tendency to disregard advice from his fellow LWO members often leads to betrayal and their departure to more powerful factions.
8. The New Day
Initially, I was uncertain about including New Day in the rankings given that Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have been the tag team since Big E suffered a neck injury in March 2022. However, with the addition of Odyssey Jones in August 2024, there seems to be a compelling argument for their placement. We’ll have to observe how this revamped edition of the illustrious stable evolves, hoping it maintains the excitement we’ve previously experienced.
7. Alpha Academy
Initially, I assumed Alpha Academy was destined for the same fate as the J.O.B. Squad or other wrestling groups with unstable members, when Chad Gable switched sides and abandoned them. But surprisingly, it seems that the trio consisting of Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa have gained a positive image boost after their fearless leader’s departure. It’ll be intriguing to follow their journey as they move forward, and I really hope Otis receives another opportunity to shine.
6. American Made
Chad Gable and his group, American Made (consisting of Brutus, Julius Creed), have been targets for the Wyatt Family lately, but this quartet of villainous amateur wrestlers might continue to thrive following their current storyline. Each member is skilled in the ring, while Gable consistently demonstrates his mic prowess. Additionally, they evoke a strong sense of “Team Angle” in me.
5. Legado Del Fantasma
Over the years, it’s been a blast watching The Phantom Legacy faction, comprised of Santos Escobar, Elektra Lopez, Angel, and Berto. In 2024, their rivalry with Rey Mysterio’s LWO has been particularly exciting. Although they may not have achieved as much as some top WWE factions, they exhibit potential and a dynamic, intense wrestling style that never fails to impress.
4. Damage CTRL
Over the last two years, Damage CTRL has been an exciting group to follow in WWE. Despite some setbacks like losing a member (Bayley), experiencing injuries with Asuka and Dakota Kai that keep them out of action, and not having any title belts after Iyo Sky was defeated by Bayley at WrestleMania 40, the return of “Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka is expected soon to steer the team back on track.
3. The Wyatt Sicks
Initially, I was hesitant about the Wyatt Sicks group, but their impressive debut match against American Made on Monday Night Raw following SummerSlam 2024 has changed my perspective. The team, comprising Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Abby the Witch (Nikki Cross), Ramblin’ Rabbit (Erick Rowan), Mercy the Buzzard (Dexter Lumis), and Huskus the Pig Boy (Joe Gacy), is paying homage to the late Bray Wyatt in various ways. I believe that if managed correctly, they could accomplish what the legendary character failed to achieve.
2. The Bloodline
Previously discussed, the Bloodline saga has stood out as one of wrestling’s finest tales over the past three years or so, significantly enhancing the careers of those involved. Now that Roman Reigns is back to face Solo Sikoa, who temporarily assumed the “Tribal Chief” role, we’re stepping into a new phase of this captivating narrative. I’m eagerly anticipating the potential Bloodline Civil War hinted at throughout the summer.
As a long-time fan of professional wrestling, I must say that my perspective on WWE’s current faction dynamics is shaped by my years of watching and analyzing the sport. However, given the ever-changing nature of wrestling, I can never predict with absolute certainty how things will unfold following an upcoming event. But one thing remains constant: the thrill of the unknown and the anticipation for what’s to come in the world of WWE.
1. The Judgment Day
Despite the departure of original members Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley following Finn Balor and Dominick Mysterio’s betrayals at SummerSlam, I firmly believe that Judgment Day is currently the top stable in WWE. With Liv Morgan, Carlio, and JD McDonagh now part of the group, they appear closer and more revitalized than ever before. Previously, we speculated that Judgment Day could become the next Bloodline; however, given their position atop the Raw brand for the past year, it seems the faction has not only matched but even surpassed their counterparts on SmackDown.
