- Xbox Game Pass has moved to let players stream releases from outside their catalogue
- It means titles not in the Game Pass catalogue can be streamed via your phone or tablet
- Witcher 3, Space Marine 3, Baldur’s Gate 3 and more are all available
As a seasoned gamer who’s seen the evolution of gaming from the humble beginnings of 8-bit graphics to the immersive, high-definition worlds we enjoy today, I can confidently say that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s latest update is nothing short of revolutionary!
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will soon have the ability to stream games they own directly to a variety of new devices, including those not typically found in the Game Pass library. The latest expansion of the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta now covers 28 countries worldwide, and with the addition of 50 new releases, you’ll be able to enjoy an even wider range of streaming options on your preferred device.
Until now, only games from the Game Pass catalog that were released regularly could be played via the cloud gaming feature, which has been in its testing phase. However, by enabling players to stream their personal game library, this change significantly increases the variety of games accessible through streaming.
It also means that some amazing titles like Baldur’s Gate 3, Space Marine 2, Balatro and more will be available to stream via your phone or tablet! A pretty amazing, if not totally unprecedented new feature for streaming like this.
The Cloud’s the limit
From my perspective, I believe this long-awaited feature is quite necessary. For me, one major challenge with cloud gaming has always been the extensive steps required to access games beyond a restricted selection offered by the service. Therefore, the option to stream games that aren’t typically accessible seems logical and sensible.
I believe it’s important to observe the performance of streaming against traditional mobile gaming, as this is a debate that has been ongoing for some time. However, the introduction of this novel feature could potentially take things to a whole new level.
Here’s a helpful tip if you’re looking to start console streaming: We’ve prepared a guide specifically for that purpose. Additionally, we have another guide to help you stream directly from your computer. This way, you can enjoy gaming anytime, anywhere!
