Yellowjackets’ Timelines Could Come Together In Season 3, But It’s Left Me With A Big Question About Nat

Yellowjackets' Timelines Could Come Together In Season 3, But It's Left Me With A Big Question About Nat

As a seasoned gamer of life, having spent countless hours immersed in the labyrinthine narratives of television shows, I find myself captivated by the intricate tapestry that is Yellowjackets. With each new season, my curiosity only grows, and I’m left with a plethora of questions about our resilient band of survivors. The latest teaser about the impending collision of timelines has me on edge, especially in regards to the elusive Nat.

As I ponder over the show Yellowjackets, my mind is filled with queries. Who’s the Antler Queen? Who’s Pit Girl? Have all those who survived the crash in the past made it to the present? The list just keeps growing, but the question that stands out as we delve into Season 3 of Yellowjackets is clear: How will the past events influence the present? Now, we’ve got a hint about how the timelines will intersect this season. Yet, it also stirs up a fresh question about our favorite character Nat: What role will her past play in her current situation?

What Yellowjackets’ Ashley Lyle Said About The Timelines And ‘Brining Those Pieces Together’

Leading up to the debut of the Showtime hit on the 2025 TV lineup, co-creator Ashley Lyle recently discussed intriguing depictions of the Yellowjackets cast in an interview with Vanity Fair. Notably, all the characters who have a contemporary counterpart are pictured alongside them, except for Nat (further details to follow).

Yellowjackets' Timelines Could Come Together In Season 3, But It's Left Me With A Big Question About Nat

When inquired about arranging “season three,” Lyle clarified they are now working to connect “the various elements,” drawing a connection between past and current storylines. From the visuals provided, it appears that the younger and older actors might share screen time, or at the very least, the past events could significantly influence the present, as the co-creator elaborated.

For each pairing and individual character, the blending or intersection of past and present manifests uniquely. This uniqueness is deeply tied to their personalities. I must select my words with care, if you don’t mind me saying so, [laughs]. In some instances, this blend can be quite literal; in others, it shows how the past and present versions of a character may have appeared vastly different – revealing the transformation from the young adult they once were to who they are now. The person they’ve become, even as adults, is essentially an echo or resonance of who they used to be.

In every photo, you’ll find the older actress alongside her younger counterpart, with one exception – Nat, because the current portrayal of Juliette Lewis’ character unfortunately passed away during the last season.

From the visuals presented, it appears that the Shaunas are sitting apart from each other and facing the camera squarely. Contrastingly, the Vans’ close-ups depict Van gazing at the camera while teen Van is looking at her older self. Thus, could it be inferred that Shauna – both iterations of her – is looking ahead rather than introspecting? Perhaps teen Van harbors hopes for survival and emergence from the woods.

The pictures raise numerous queries, leading me to believe that the past and present are destined to intersect in Season 3. Moreover, given that the actors portraying Nat were seated together during her death scene, the possibilities are endless when timeframes overlap.

However, looking through all of this, seeing Nat alone has inspired my biggest question.

How Will Nat’s Story Move Forward Since Present Nat Is Dead?

In the preview, there’s an unsettling feeling about Nat being the only one isolated, as she appears alone. Given that the current version of her is deceased, this isn’t surprising, yet it remains a striking image. It leaves me questioning how Nat’s narrative will intersect with the present timeline.

Fortunately, Lyle touched upon this topic to some degree, explaining that the feeling of isolation and heart-wrenching loneliness is something that everyone experiences due to the inevitable passing of our future selves. Yet, she emphasized that Nat still has a significant amount of life ahead and many stories yet to be told.

Obviously, we’ll be seeing a ton of teen Nat, especially since she survived her hunt.

Currently, it seems she’ll have a significant impact as well, given that Misty must grapple with the realization that she was responsible for her death. Yet, I ponder if her narrative will resemble Travis’. Although he perished in the initial season, his influence on past events is considerable and his name often comes up in current discussions.

It’s crucial for Nat, in both her forms, to significantly impact the current narrative of Yellowjackets. Given that different realities are set to intersect, I wonder if teen Nat might indirectly or even directly shape the behavior of the older women at some point.

Time itself will unveil the answer regarding your question. Luckily, we can expect some solutions quite soon since Season 3 of “Yellowjackets” is scheduled to debut in early 2025.

In the meantime, consider revisiting these questions by streaming the first two seasons on Paramount+, which requires a subscription that includes the Showtime add-on. Afterward, don’t forget to explore other series such as “Yellowjackets”.
