As a long-time Yellowstone enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions as we approach the final episodes of Season 5. The series has been an integral part of my weekly viewing routine, and the characters have become like old friends. Jennifer Landon‘s emotional goodbye post has added a somber tone to my anticipation for the upcoming season.
Have we been pondering for quite some time whether the recent episodes of Yellowstone’s fifth season might be its last? It appeared as though they would indeed be the final ones. But then, just a few weeks ago, there was a rumor circulating that Season 6 of Taylor Sheridan’s Western could potentially take place. However, Jennifer Landon has completed her work on the installment scheduled to air in 2024, and her post along with Kelly Reilly’s comment seem to hint that the end may be near for this cherished series.
Jennifer Landon Said Goodbye To ‘The Last Season’ Of Yellowstone
As Season 5 nears its conclusion and the November 10 premiere date approaches, members of the cast have been sharing heartfelt farewells on Instagram. Most recently, Jennifer Landon, portraying ranchhand Teeter in the Yellowstone series, posted an emotional message, saying: “It’s time to say goodbye.
Check out this fuzzy selfie I took as I said goodbye to the set, wrapping up the final season of Yellowstone. A mountain of paper towels to absorb all the emotions. What an amazing journey it’s been! #Yellowstone #YellowstoneTV #ItWasAnIncredibleRide #TimeToGetARealHorseNow

While most of Taylor Sheridan’s shows are available with a Paramount+ subscription, you need a Peacock subscription to stream the first five seasons of Yellowstone.
Currently, it’s worth pointing out how she described this season. Landon stated that she was saying goodbye to her “last day on the final season of Yellowstone.” This contradicts rumors about Season 6, suggesting that the main series may not be included in future shows following Season 5.
It’s important to mention that the reports about Season 6 haven’t been definitively verified yet. On August 27, Deadline suggested that Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser might take lead roles if the show were to continue past Season 5. However, it was also pointed out that “the deals are not finalized” at this point. Therefore, we’re still unsure whether Yellowstone will conclude with Season 5 or carry on afterwards.
Landon’s post, however, suggests that Season 5B will be its last.
How Kelly Reilly Responded To Jennifer Landon’s Post
Furthermore, Kelly Reilly responded to Landon’s heartfelt farewell message regarding the bunkhouse, which only served to deepen my curiosity even more. The actress who portrays Beth Dutton posted:
This year, I adored our scenes together even more than words can express… You’re simply extraordinary as an actor and a person, Jen. Now, please bring that horse over and join me again xx
Now, this post leaves me with two primary thoughts.
Initially, the tone seems conclusive, suggesting Teeter and Beth may not return. Although Reilly doesn’t state this directly, his phrase, “Now get that horse and come find me,” carries a sentimental tone, which could be characteristic of a farewell message. However, their ongoing support on Instagram for several months indicates this emotional comment isn’t entirely unexpected, even though it hints at an impending conclusion.
In addition: Is it likely that Beth and Teeter will share a significant plotline during this season? It’s worth noting that Kelly Reilly was filming in Texas in August, suggesting she will be with the bunkhouse crew and livestock. Given that Teeter was also heading towards that location at the end of Season 5A, it seems plausible they would share scenes together. I personally hope there are many such moments between them. The on-screen rapport between these actresses promises an intriguing dynamic, making me eager to see how their chemistry unfolds on screen.
